Since I was a girl, I have had a passion for floor plans. I would spend hours designing and drawing as a kid. When I was in high school I studied engineering design and architecture (along with culinary arts). During my senior year, my parents built their new home. I had the hands on opportunity to work with the blueprints and learn from the real life construction. In the end, my cooking skills out weighed my line quality. But my passion for home design never faded. I can lose myself for hours in just looking through floor prints. When my children were still young, we built our house. Well, I watched as it was built. Again the design side of things fascinated me. But for the first time the interior design took hold also. I was in Heaven. Fast forward two decades. Today I am at the very front end of planning my new home. I have dreamed about it for a decade, but the time has come to take the first steps. So as I search for the perfect piece of dirt with trees, I am also pouring through floor plans. Soon it will be time to compile the pieces and parts I love the most and draw the layout. It is truly going to be an epic architectural love affair!
