Karma Credit Report

I was chatting with my
beautiful daughter one day
We were talking about attitudes
and being happy with ourselves.
We talked about
being the person we want to be,
growing into that person.
We talked about liking who we are,
learning to really like ourselves;
selflove.
We talked about karma.
(I love karma, the concept is spectacular.)
My daughter said she wished
she could pull up her
"Karma Credit Report",
just to see where she was at.
We could just pull it up like our credit score,
and see where we are
and where we need to be.
It would be so helpful!
Wouldn't that be AMAZING!!!
I love talking with my girl!!! She is great!!

AHHA Moment

I meet with my Life Coach once a week.
Tonight something was said
that sparked my thoughts.
"Where were you,
when what you were doing
in your life made you happy.
That your efforts to improve
your world were going as planed
and you were successfully happy?
What were you doing at that time?
Can you reintroduce the process
you were using at that time,
to make new strides in your life?"
I knew the time frame of my life instantly,
I also knew the process I needed to
re-implement into my world.
It was an AHHA moment for sure.

Karma Credit Report

I was chatting with my beautiful daughter the
other evening. We were talking about attitudes;
being happy with ourselves and karma.
We talked about being the person we want to be,
growing into that person.
We talked about liking who we are,
learning to really like yourself, to love yourself.
We talked about karma.
(I love karma, the concept is spectacular.)
My daughter said she wished she could pull up her
Karma Credit Report, just to see where she was at with that.
Wouldn't that be AMAZING!!!
I love talking with my girl!!!

OLD

My boss came out of his office today
saying that he had just R.S.V.P.ed
for his 45th high-school reunion.

He stopped and said
"I thought it would take longer to get this old."

Gene Wilder

Gene Wilder passed away today.
He was a very funny man.
My favorite of his movies is
"The Frisco Kid".
Funny funny movie!

Reading...a book!

I had to drive across town as soon as I was done with work today. It's not that it is a long drive, maybe 15 minutes if that! But the locals act like this little place is enormous. I needed to catch clients who live out of town, they leave tomorrow on their trip and will need the travel docs I have. As I entered the establishment they were meeting me in, I knew I was early, so I introduced myself to the young lady at the front desk. I let her know why I was there so she wouldn't worry about me. As I waited, I was delighted to see her pull out a small book and start to read. I know that reading is not a lost art, but to see this young lady reading an actual book, not one on her tablet, not checking her face book accout or snap chatting, not playing on her cell. I never once saw her cell phone. I was impressed. I let her know it!
My clients met with me, we went over all thier details and I wished them safe and happy traveling.
I took a short drive over the river and through the woods after that.
The world was right for a little bit!

life change

My life change wasn't about bravery.
It was scary. However...
I didn't want to waste any more of
this short life regretting.

When you find something that you
truly believe in,
you need to invest yourself completely.
There is little in this world that one
can not do
if you put your heart,
love and hard work into it.

I took a leap of faith in myself
and my future.
A leap of faith for my happiness
and the life I want.
Regret isn't part of my agenda.
am

RIGHT!!!

Quote of The Day

"I'm going to make
everything around me beautiful
and that will be my life"
Elsie deWolf

Every Woman....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
Enough money within her control to move out...
And rent a place of her own
even if she never wants to
or needs to...
Something perfect to wear if the employer
or date of her dreams wants to See Her in an hour...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
A youth she's content to leave behind....
A past juicy enough that she's looking forward to
retelling it in her Old Age....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
A set of screwdrivers,
a cordless drill, and a black lace bra...
One friend who always makes her laugh...
And one Who lets her cry...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
A good piece of furniture not previously owned
by anyone else in her Family...
Eight matching plates,
wine glasses with stems,
And a recipe for a meal that will make
her guests feel Honored...
A feeling of control over her destiny...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
How to fall in love without losing herself..
HOW TO QUIT A JOB,
BREAK UP WITH A LOVER,
AND CONFRONT A FRIEND WITHOUT
RUINING THE FRIENDSHIP...
When to try harder...
And WHEN TO WALK AWAY...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
That she can't change the length of her calves,
The width of her hips,
or the nature of her parents..
That her childhood may not have been perfect...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
What she would and wouldn't do for love or more...
How to live alone...
Even if she doesn't like it...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
Whom she can trust,
Whom she can't,
And why she shouldn't take it personally...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
Where to go...
Be it to her best friend's kitchen table...
Or a charming inn in the woods...
When her soul needs soothing...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
What she can and can't accomplish in a day...
A month...
And a year...

Food Happy

Food Happy is .... Going out to dinner with friends on Monday and choosing to try a new dish rather than your usual loved dish.  And being very happy!

Native American Full Moons

http://farmersalmanac.com/full-moon-names/

Saturday Night

I'm trying to broaden my cultural awareness. Last week I went to the symphony, I toured cultural, historical and natural sights this week on my trip. Tonight I am at Angel Mounds; an ancient Native American settlement. There is a Sifi Art exhibit here tonight. Even though it is so not my thing, I am learning new things!

Farmers Almanac

Here are the 20 Signs of A Hard Winter.
  • Thicker than normal corn husks
  • Woodpeckers sharing a tree
  • Early arrival of the Snowy owl
  • Early departure of geese and ducks
  • Early migration of the Monarch butterfly
  • Thick hair on the nape (back) of the cow’s neck
  • Heavy and numerous fogs during August
  • Raccoons with thick tails and bright bands
  • Mice eating ravenously into the home
  • Early arrival of crickets on the hearth
  • Spiders spinning larger than usual webs and entering the house in great numbers
  • Pigs gathering sticks
  • Insects marching a bee line rather than meandering
  • Early seclusion of bees within the hive
  • Unusual abundance of acorns
  • Muskrats burrowing holes high on the river bank
  • “See how high the hornet’s nest, ‘twill tell how high the snow will rest”
  • Narrow orange band in the middle of the Woollybear caterpillar warns of heavy snow; fat and fuzzy caterpillars presage bitter cold
  • The squirrel gathers nuts early to fortify against a hard winter
  • Frequent halos or rings around sun or moon forecast numerous snow falls.

There you go! Bring it on!

Summer Concert

Last night I attended the 2016 Summer Concert put on by the Wolfgang Orchestra and Chorus. It was held in the Victory Theater on Main Street.
The Victory Theater was beautiful. It was ornate and splendid, it reminded me of the Orpheum Theater in Phoenix.
The pieces that the orchestra played were amazing. Shenandoah, The Purple Pageant March, Highlights from Camelot, Symphony No. 9, "From the New World" and my favorite, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
My son taught me, some time ago, to hunt out the sounds of the different instruments when listening to a musical piece, and it changed the way I hear music now. Visually listening puts an entire new appreciation to my music consumption. Knowing the pieces from Star Wars, knowing where they went in each film, knowing the drama and excitement that each piece went with was so amazing. Watching how the music is created and transformed with the collaboration of so many talented musicians, all working together to create those feelings, that excitement, through their individual, yet joint effort.... truly is Amazing to me.
I look forward to the next concert in September!

I don't play any musical instruments.
(I pride myself on the ability to play the radio, but only the old school type!
I own a piano, and I must say, I do dust it well! But I do not play!)
I am grateful to those that can play musical instruments and do!

AUGUST 13th

Today is my son's 22nd birthday!
He is having a party with his friends.
I love that he still gets together with
the kids that he has hung out with for years.
Happy Birthday to my favorite boy!
I celebrated his birthday by
going to the symphony and out to dinner.
We will celebrate together soon!

A SIGN

Displaying IMG_0710.JPG

Waiting to see the Eye Dr this morning,
and in walks this 6 foot 5 inch tall young man.
He was rail thin, and bald.
His face was handsome
and his manners were impeccable.
Yet, the thing that creeped me out was his outfit.
He is a priest, wearing a black, neck to floor gown...with the white collar.
When the nurse came out to get me,
I could see that she was creeped out too.
I didn't say anything about it....
until she said that the sight of him
really was freaky.
We talked about it feeling
very uncomfortable,
then we both agreed that
we thought his being there should have
been a comfort to everyone.
We decided that if
there is a tornado
or if the doctors office burns down today,
that our creepy feeling was a sign.

Creative

I have spent several hours sewing recently.
Creative desire has to be here when
I enter my sewing room or I just see it as chaos.
But when the creativity hits and the mood is right,
then it's almost like the stars align.
Don't get me wrong...
if the mood dies mid project,
that project gets shelved.
But when I can keep it alive,
start to finish, I love the outcome.
Some nights I wish I did not need sleep,
so I could sew all night.

Getting Older and Okay With That

*You're no longer bothered in the slightest if someone doesn't like you.
*You feel no shame for not knowing a celebrity's name, or what movies are currently out.
*You know that going to bed early doesn't make you any less of a badass. But now 9:45 pm is Staying up late.
*You find you enjoy conversations with people who you use to think were old, far better than the younger crowd.
*When being made aware of the current comedy or music, and you realize you are THAT old guy, dissing the new crap.
*You've taken up a hobby you would have made fun of when you were younger but DO. NOT. CARE.
*You still call things by the old school names; like vcr, instant message or cassette.
*You no longer care if your fashion is fashionable.
*And even though your body hurts and you have a few wrinkles, you like yourself a whole lot more today than yesterday.

My Day in Review

*Was grateful for no early morning meeting.
*Enjoyed a chocolate shot of caffein.
*Helped a lady fly to Austin to see her great grandbabies.
*Made sure Seattle travelers were not stranded.
*Encouaged couple to make even the end of the trip an exciting part of the adventure.
*Hand wrote a Thank You for unexpected thoughtfulness.
*Got a super deal, perks and extras for first time voyagers.
*Took precautions so that clients weren't overcharged for coverage.
*Shared banter with boss, glimpsing the lighter side of office life.
*Whittled down the stacks of files on my desk.
*Had lunch with a friend
*Touched base with those heading out.
*Welcomed home those just arriving.
*Updated commission received.
*Put old files to bed.
*Met with insurance agent, made sure I understood the uncovered.
* Stopped at the grocery for peaches and hardware.
*Took a detour.
*Attempted to be Handyman Negry.
*Hit limitations and frustration.
*Reached out to experienced plummer.
*Rethought and took action against hoarding.
*Took measures to calm down and cool off.
*Consumed strange combinations.
*Prepped and planned for intermittent nodding off.
*Viewed the opening ceremony.
*Sent out an apology for momentary laps.
*Became emotional over marketing successes.
*Was dumbfounded by local media, reconfirming pledge to avoid.
*First time watching late show with Jimmy Fallen. Reconfirming pledge to avoid stupid.
*Tested my skills at problem solving after midnight.
*Reviewed my day in the most obtuse manner.

Wicked Wednesday

Spent the day in Kentucky yesterday, it was such a beautiful day!
The sky was cloudy and the air was so humid it felt heavy.
I love seeing the corn fields, the bean fields and the tobacco.
But my favorite parts are always the woods.
When everything is so green and full, it's just magical.
I saw several Sleeping raccoons along the way.
There were horses, cows and a couple donkeys.
There was even a coyote on state route. Crazy thing!
My man and I enjoyed fresh peach cobbler and a lovely afternoon.
It was a perfect Wicked Wednesday!

Pot Luck

Tomorrow the travel girls are doing a birthday pot luck for my boss. I like these, they are classy for the most part and very yummy! I've prepped a garden salad, with veggies out of my garden, and blueberries, pecans and feta! The tapenade is marinating, to make bruschetta. And a bowl of tzatziki with lime juice is chilling nicely.Tomorrow there will also be lasagna and carrot cake!! It's going to be yummy! Even if we will be eating off paper plates with Minions on them!!

A Sign on Monday

I stopped at the bank after work.
As I came out, I was struck by the smell of clean laundry.
The smell was coming from the car wash next to the bank.
My thought was "This is a sign...it's going to be a good evening!"
So...I headed to see Thea and Hallie at the spa!
The perfect after work activity for a Monday!
