Timing Is Everything!

Finally ready for bed... yoga pants on the floor, next to the abandoned fuzzy socks. Pillows arranged perfectly and bed sheets and blankies all cozy. Feeling so ready for bed... then the Tornado Siren start to wail. I get up, put my yoga pants back on and my fuzzy socks too. And the sirens stop!
I looked at the radar, I think I'm safe to try this again!

TODAY

Today is my Granddaughters birthday.
I think.
She is five.
She has two big brothers.
The boys had birthdays in January.

I send my love to them daily.
I pray for them all the time.

I cannot express the longing to know them.
I may not be part of their world,
but they are part of mine.

I love them

....

I have no problem with people that have different beliefs than me.
I have no problem with people that live their life different than me. I have a problem with those that are stupid.
Stupid is just stupid.

MidWinter

Fact: Winter is officially half over! Today, February 3, at 5:37 pm., EST, marks the official midpoint of winter, the moment between the December Solstice and the March Equinox. You will really begin to notice the lengthening of the days and the increase of daylight.  In fact, from early February through early May, notice how the days are getting brighter and longer almost on a day-to-day basis!

CABLE CHALLENGED

My Kentuckia kids gave me a flatscreen TV for Christmas...I think it was so we wouldn't have to huddle in front of my old TV...and they love me.
Today is February 1st. So I thought maybe it was time to get the new screen out of the box and into the living room.
I read all the instructions, following each one...step by step. Not that I understand what all those input/output thingies are... but I did what it told me to do.
Honestly, I was feeling pretty good about this thing.
However, I had no working channels. Even though I did what the instructions told me.
So I texted a friend. I asked for her assistance. (She is a tech chick!) She was on her way home and said she would be at my place in two minutes. She is delightful! She came in and checked out all the connections and had the TV run through the set up again.
She was so sweet, step by step, walking through the installation process. Never even thinking that Angie could be the cause of the non functioning new device. But, being the non-tech chic that I am, I had never even connected the cable line from the wall into the cable box. Thus, no TV! Once we unearthed the cable line, had a really good laugh over my stupidity and hooked it up...Viola! The new flat screen works! Programming is at my fingertips and cable is happening! I thanked my dear friend, and she headed home, I turned the TV off and headed up to get ready for bed. I didn't want to watch it, I just wanted to know I could if I wanted to!
A good evening!
