Big Plans For 2019

I have given some thoughts to New Years Resolutions,
and I just can’t put my finger on anything I want to commit
myself to do differently than I am currently doing.
Yes, I would like to do better at this and that, but I think we
Should strive to do better every day, not just the start of a new year.
Instead, I would like to focus on the big plans I have for 2019.
And although there are only two, they are life changing.
1. I’m going to attend my sons wedding.
I can’t even tell you how happy I am about this.
So excited to host the wedding eve family dinner.
2. I’m going to move.
I have lived in my cute townhouse for four years text summer,
And it’s time for change. I am ready to try something new.
The feeling I have when I’ve been in one spot long enough
has been clawing at me for some time.
So this year I will pack up my world and take a new leap of faith.
I am so excited to have a new adventure!
2019 is going to be great!

Resolutions

I don’t call them New Years Resolutions

I prefer the term:
Casual suggestions to myself
That I am under no legal obligation to fulfill

The Day After

The four day Holiday Weekend was WONDERFUL!
I haven't had a Christmas season that busy in years.
I haven't had so much fun in years.
Watching the children enjoy the prep and the excitement was great.
Being one of the first awake Christmas morning was Priceless.
I am so Grateful to have been part of the Riley and Storm Holiday.
I missed my children so much, but was so delighted to be with all the children here.
And Noah... Noah won my heart.

... to look a lot like Christmas

The moon is full, the evening is cold
We have had the opportunity to deliver
Christmas cheer all day.
There are Christmas decorations everywhere,
Downtown looks like a picture postcard.
And the weatherman says we will get
a bit of snow Christmas morning!
Magic!

Winter Solstice

Tonight is the longest night of the year.
My daughter Emmaly married her sweetheart Trent on this Night several years ago. It was a lovely evening. She was a beautiful bride.

Tonight there is a full moon and a meteor shower. Like a celebration in the heavens.

Word of The Day

Piratical: One who commits or practices piracy at sea.

This word was used in the current audio book I’m listening to.
I liked it!

The Journey To Bethlehem

Tonight I walked the path to Bethlehem. I joined my Family as we made our way to the City of David to pay our taxes to Herod.
Along the way we met Three Wise Men who had followed the Star from far away lands. Then we met shepherds tending their flocks. There we saw Angels who told of the Messiah being born that day. They sang great tidings of joy. Then along the path we came across beggars and lepers. Our hearts broke for their distress and hardship. The as we continued on the path we saw the gates to the city. The king’s guards saw us. They took the man from the group and tried to take our tax money. They made us show them our lineage papers and frightened our children. When we finally made it over the bridge and through the gates they looked at our papers again, and stamped them with a seal. Once inside the city of David we met scholars who foretold of the importance of the signs we saw along the way.
We met merchants selling their wares. They fed us and told of the great things they had heard. As we searched for somewhere to stay for the night we met the Inn keeper and her husband. They told us of all the people who were there to pay the taxes. We told them of all we had heard and seen, that the Messiah was to be born tonight. As we spoke, children came running to tell of the new baby that was born in the manger. We went to see. And there we mat Joseph and his wife Mary. We told them that we had seen angels. They said they had also been visited by angels. And there we saw the tiny baby. Just as had been foretold.

The New Hope Christian Church in Washington, Indiana has put this journey on for several years now. They have a wonderful program before and after the Journey to Bethlehem. I have to say, it was incredible. And I am greatful to have been given the chance to see this. It was a perfect Christmas activity! A huge Thank You to Dave!

Gravel Highway

I had clients in my office the other day

that are wanting to take a rail trip.

We chatted about where they want

to go and what they want to see.

We talked about where they have been

and what experiences they have had.

They told me of their vacation when they drove to Alaska in their Vega Wagon

pulling a pop up tent.

The road-way was gravel back then.

What an exciting trip.

I am always delighted to hear the

adventures my clients have been on.

They always make me want to go!

I AM SO EXCITED

My son and his darling girlfriend are getting married.
Today I purchased the trip home to be with them for their big day.
I can hardly wait. I am so excited.
AZ here I come!

Hmmm

I know I am strong, that I can withstand much, take the pressure, and I’m not a bad looking classic.
But I often feel like I don’t fit in. With all the cheap fad imitations around me.

St. Barbra Day

The other day some of my favorite clients stopped in my office to plan their next trip. I love this couple, they are truly delightful. After we had originally set up the appointment, Barbara called and asked if we could change the time to something a bit later. I had space in my calendar so that was just fine. When they arrived I noticed a name tag on Barbara's blouse. (She is always so fashionable!) As they sat down she told me that she had been to a luncheon that day and that is what caused them to be running a bit late. As the conversation went on, I learned that Barbara attends a luncheon every month and all the attendees are named BARBARA! This fascinated me to no end. She went on to tell me how that specific day was St. Barbara's Day. I was then enlightened about St. Barbara, who's tragic life sounded very much like Rapunzel's. She was very devout in her Christian belief, but was tragically killed in the end. And...to top it all off, the Catholic church took away her Saint hood, because she had not done enough charity work.
OH MY GOODNESS!
At any rate. I helped my beloved clients and their friends plan a trip to see Alaska and the Yukon...
and I was left wondering if somewhere there is an ANGIE luncheon somewhere that I should be attending.
I love my people!!!!

Excitement of The Evening

We went to the Dirt in December race in St Louis today. We had parked our car on the sixth floor of the adjoining parking garage. Upon returning to our car at 11:08 we waited in the auto line with all the other garaged vehicles to get out. The wait was about an hour. Lucky we enjoyed our surroundings. Once we were out of the garage, we could have headed to our hotel, but we thought taking a late night drive around down town St Louis would be fun. The streets were still packed at 12:30am. The architect was beautiful all lit up, the holiday decorations looked lovely. Neither of us had a clue where we were going, just enjoying the scenery. When we stopped at a traffic light at 14th Street and Washington across from Self Inflicted Tattoo (I am not sure it is a tattoo shop or a night club) There were lots of people lingering outside, I figured to get into the club. But not the case... there where actually two young ladies (I use that term very loosely) fighting on the sidewalk. As our traffic light was about to change, a car in the oncoming traffic lane stopped, right there in the traffic. The driver got out and was around the car in a flash, yelling and grabbing at something in the waistband of his trousers. The fight and the group of onlookers started to break up as we drove away.
And I thought the fireworks at the dirt track were the big excitement of the evening!
After that we made our way to the quiet little neighborhood where our hotel was located. Enough excitement for us!
