VALLEY OF THE SUNS

I 💜🧡💜 My Phoenix Suns!

MAGIC

“Those who do not believe in magic, will never find it.”

Maybe my belief in magic is truly my understanding that this life is amazing. If I search for the good in everything, I will continue to see the magic all around me.

A PART OF HIS UNIVERSE

I believe in miracles. I have been a believer all my life. I believe in God and His ability to work through us, as emissaries. I believe that we are all equals in His universe. And if we work together, we can make truly amazing things happen.

I believe in the power of prayer. Not the way you see others praying, not the praying for show when others are watching. I believe in the conversation with my Heavenly Father, who knows me best of all and loves me unconditionally. I know my Heavenly Father is always with me. And He is always up for a chat. We, He and I, have some of our best conversations as we walk in the woods or drive just about anywhere. I have heard His voice when there was no other sound, I have felt His comfort, His encouragement, His call to service.

I like knowing that I can share my joys, my struggles, my everything with Him. I know that if I ask for help, He will be there for me. He will no-doubt show me the direction that I will need to work towards. He will show me the next path, then require that I work out the life puzzle to achieve it.

Keeping communication open… listening, asking questions… He will give me insight to work as one with his universe. The whispers that our heart and mind hear, the call to action, the guidance that lead us on the path. Having faith and working to better ourselves will help us be part of the well-oiled machine, that is His universe. Working diligently, being available and eager, being willing to not only achieve, but also to share in what has been put before us, these are keys to success. Being confident in knowing who we are and knowing that we are perfect to fulfill the role we have been asked to carry out… in that knowledge … we must also understand that we are here as part of a magnificent organization, His design, His universe.

SUMMER HEAT

Today as I drove through Newburg at 5:38, there was a digital sign that read 100 degrees. So I rolled the windows down. The humidity was low, yes it was toasty, but it felt like a cool Phoenix heat. It felt so nice to have my hand out the window, as the wind blew my hair.

It made me think back to that first day I came to Kentucky. So many new things to experience. We drove through the woods with the windows rolled dow. The wind blowing through my hair and my hand out the window.

Oh the summer heat!

I am so grateful to be so blessed … with magical opportunities, adventures and to be able to see things through eyes that always find the beauty, wonder and excitement. I love this piece of the world. It is home. It’s where my heart is!

DO THE FIRST ONE

“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.”
Mark Twain

It’s true. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex, overwhelming task into small manageable tasks, then starting on the first one.

This makes me happy….could someone else come do this to my craft room, I just can’t seem to do it!

BE ENGAGING

This was part of my morning read today:

(Being) actively engaged in loving something, is sexy.

People who are pro-stuff change the world as they infuse light into what they do and they bring intention to the choices they make

5001… AND COUNTING

The blog entry with my little Mayberry playing in the rain was my 5000th published blog entry.

Chocolate Serendipity has been read in every continent except Antarctica. I love sharing the bits and pieces I add here. Here is to the next 5000!

SHOES & SO MUCH MORE

I sent my daughter the above picture I found online. Hightops were never my thing, but these were cute.
She sent me the next two pairs.

Not my thing, but art none the less.
Then she sent these…

… and I agreed when she said …

Every girl should own stilettos…
even if they are just her bedroom slippers!

* A stiletto heel, is a shoe with a long, thin, high heel.
It is named after the stiletto dagger!

THANK YOU

This was just delivered! So sweet and thoughtful!

IDENTITY

“One of the most important things you own is your IDENTITY. You aren’t born with it. It has nothing to do with DNA.”

*My friend Bill said this to me yesterday. He is a brilliant man. I love his smarts, his wordiness and his passion for life.

IDENTITY
Definition: the distinguishing character, personality
•Who you are, the characteristics that define you.

~I think I have been working my whole life to define myself. Some parts of my identity are set in stone and will never change (my need for adventure, my capacity to love unconditionally) Then there are parts of my identity that continue to change (grow and adapt) (the hobbies I have, the passions I pursue).
I am the only person I have to live with every day of my life. I want her to be the very best she can be. I actually love who I am. I think I am amazing!

TAKE A MINUTE TO READ THIS:
I liked this article. I think it is a good read for all of us coming to the next chapter in life.

The Great Race 2021

The Great Race is an antique, vintage, and collector car competitive controlled speed endurance road rally on public highways. It is not a test of top speed. It is a test of a driver/navigator team's ability to follow precise course instructions and the car's (and team's) ability to endure on a cross-country trip. The course instructions require the competing teams to drive at or below the posted speed limits at all times. The 2021 route includes an overnight stop in Owensboro, where the cars will be on display downtown.

MY TAKE

Just my take on social media at the moment:

Let’s back up… remember the last few years, all the negativity about a former US President? How could anyone forget, right! I will admit right here, I have not liked several of the past US Presidents. I will also state that I did not vote for many of them, nor did I agree with their agendas or ethics. However, I value and love the country that I was born and raised in. Thus, I will show respect to the leadership there in. Whether the choices made by these few are, in my opinion, good or questionable. I know that in a matter of time, I can once again put in my voice and my vote to help choose the next in line.

Now then… I am not a huge fan of social media. I don’t view the news or watch tirades. After all, at this day and age, who is to know truth in media!! But one of my biggest irritants are those who post all the “Religious Love” and “Brimstone and Fire” to show their exemplary faith and goodness, only to turn around and share their hatred of our President.

It seems to me, that if you need to show your love of the Lord and remind others that they are not up to your level of religious glory and then publicly bash the President of the country we believe is blessed by that same God, well your points are simply no longer valid. I don’t remember judging or criticism being taught in Sunday school as acceptable, even when you are singing how good you are. And for that, the Big Guy has some words to share with you, I’m sure.
