Word of The Day

neglect
verb
ne·glect
\ni-ˈglekt\
    transitive verb
  • 1: to give little attention or respect to : disregard
  • 2: to leave undone or unattended to; especially through carelessness

*This word was used yesterday by a friend.
I asked him to explain the reason he chose this word and how it fit into the conversation we were having.
As he did, he pin pointed the circumstances and the relationships that he saw were defined by this word.
I hadn't pinned that word to those circumstances, but as the sudden onslaught of tears erupted, I knew that his perception was spot on.
And although the new perspective doesn't make the pain any less real, it gave me clarity of those who said they loved me.
