ALTRUISM

Altruism is the principle and practice of concern for the welfare and /or happiness of other people. It is an important moral value in many religions. The objects of altruistic concern vary among cultures and religions. At one extreme, altruism may become a synonym of selflessness, the opposite of selfishness.
