Quote of The Day

SEX

I don't remember where I read and copied this from, however, I am a super supporter of amazing sex!

"See sex as a celebration," Take more of a 'carpe diem' approach to it. We move through life at the speed of sound, with multiplying challenges and pressures. It's easy to allow demands on our time and energy to rob us of the joy, pleasure and opportunity that sex affords us. On the long list of priorities, it should not be on the bottom rung." If that doesn't make you want to "seize the day" (or something else), consider the health benefits: Orgasms release oxytocin, which has been called the "bonding hormone," bringing couples closer together while it alleviates anxiety and stress, reduces blood pressure and promotes healing.

The Gift of Friendship

Last night my Kentuckiana kids took me out to dinner. We went to a charming spot on Main Street called Comfort. I love being with this group. It was a very nice birthday dinner. They gave me a gift that nearly had me in tears. They bought me a beautiful piece of fabric! I was in awe that they know me so well. I am touched and delighted by their gift. I adore them! They made my birthday so nice.

I Went For A Drive Today

I went for a drive today. I wasn't sure where I was going, just that today I needed to go. Maybe I knew, in the dark corner of my mind, in that closet I have learned to keep things that are difficult.
I did some window shopping and looked at how beautiful everything looks in fall colors. But every step I took and mile I drove took me back to where my heart longs to be. I looked at a property on 2181. Then I found a lost Teacup Yorkie, who thankfully had a collar or I would have kept her and not driven her home. My car was chased by a German Shepherd, but the Rouge was faster. I was going too fast on 69, at that spot where you always say people go to fast on, and it was scary. I drove River Road, but still couldn't see the old truck in a barn. I drove through Yellow Creek Park and I saw a black Honda Odyssey with dark tinted windows, it looked like a hearst. I could see your barn so well from the road, it's looking like it needs some love. I saw that the other barn door still won't stay closed. I so wanted to go touch the Vega, to walk in the woods, to feel home. I miss having that feeling of home. I miss you and knowing you are okay. ❤️ eek

18,627

Today I slept in late, I spent far too much time looking at Black Friday adds. I returned a Redbox movie and went to Joanne's Fabrics to pick up dye. I took a Christmas tree to a friend who didn't have one. I washed my laundry and the bedding. I put up my tiny Christmas tree and decorated the living room. I went to dinner with a sweet friend. He brought me a gift and installed it for me. Then we watched a movie before he left. I climbed into bed with fresh sheets and smooth legs.
That is what I did today... day 18,627.

Prepping for The Feast

Carrot cake is frosted with yummy cream cheese frosting, the coconut and hazel nuts are toasted. The pecan pies are perfect. The fresh cranberry sauce is super! The bean salad is chilling and the sweet potatoes are in the crock pot. And the broccoli soup is cheesy good. I'm done for the day.

LIFE BLOOPERS

Why is no one around when I do truly hilarious things? I end up laughing all by myself. If there is a movie of my life in heaven, and you can get past all the heartbreak, stay for all the real life bloopers! Tonight I was working on what I thought was the next step in preparing the sweet potatoes. I put them in to my kitchen-aid to mash them. I turned it on low and chunks of orange sweet potato started flying out of the mixing bowl. So I put all the pieces back in the bowl and covered 2/3s of the bowl as best as I could. I turned it back on and what looked like little gold fish once again started to fly out! It was so comical, I couldn't stop laughing. I understood at this point that my sweet potatoes were not tender enough to mash. So I put them into the crock pot with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. I then got out a can of evaporated milk to add into the pot. It was one of the pull top cans.. so I did! And evaporated milk went every where. It was hilarious!!! I set the crock pot, cleaned up the mess, washed the dishes and got the hell out of the kitchen. I'll finish the sweet potatoes in the morning. Or we will go without! I wish someone was there to share the laugh with me!!

Trip To Walmart

The day before Thanksgiving and I'm standing in line with my11 items. Only two customers in front of me and a lady on her cell phone telling someone how long it will take to get over the bridge to Evansvill with all the construction. She only had a cake to purchase so I let her go ahead of me. (I'm in no hurry since I'm getting my Rouge's oil changed while I shop.) But as she walked in front of me she said "The struggle is real!" Which totally made want to say "First world issue!" But I kept that to myself. My few items were rung up, and put into 2 bags. I walked back to the automotive department and waited to pay for my service. The young girl at the counter didn't ask to see the receipt of the man who walked out the door with a tv, his girlfriend said " Oh, did you want to see the receipt?" The register girl said yes, and the guy came back in to the store flashing what looked like a receipt to me. But after he left and it was my turn to pay, she said to another employee that that guy only showed her a lay-away tag. And my thought was....if it wasn't the receipt shouldn't she have questioned them or reported something? But no! She asked me if I had been the one who she had just called on the speaker. I said I did not hear my name. She said, looking at my tag, "Yes it was you, sorry I messed up your last name." My last name is Jensen, I didn't know it was a difficulty last name! But I said nothing. I was tickled to see, as I got in my car that not only had they done what I paid for, but they vacuumed my little car out too!
My trip to Walmart! Now off to get gas and wait to cross over the bridge!

The Ark

https://arkencounter.com

I think we are curious about things we can not see, stories we are told with no facts to touch. I love so many stories from the Bible, yet their validity escapes me.
(I struggle with the whole man on the moon thing too.)
But when I heard someone was building a replica of the ark, I was truly curious. This I wanted to see, to touch, to have questions answered and to comprehend the possibility of it's truth.

At fist I thought it was pricey...after all there aren't even animals in it. But after the hours I spent walking, exploring, learning, I can tell you it was worth every penny.
