Thank heavens for the construction in the road. An unplanned turn in the right direction took us on back roads, some of them gravel. Where I saw lots of white houses and a lovely community. There were horses drawn buggies and a wagon of children pulling up to a variety store. I saw clothes out on the line and a farm pen full of white turkeys.
I had recently read about this Amish community. It is one of the largest in the state of Kentucky. I love so may things about the Amish lifestyle. But there are things from my daily life I do not wish to part with.
This drive was a highlight of my Saturday.
