According to the damage survey team, two EF-0 and EF-1 tornadoes occurred in western Davies County. Officials say this is along with straight-line downburst wind damage, with winds estimated up to 100 mph in the downburst.
The Daviess County Emergency Management Agency (DCEMA) reported major hazards, including power outages along with damage from downed trees and flooding as a result of the May 8 storms.
Well, the tornado sirens worked well enough at 3pm, but at 9:35 when I was woken up by the scariest sounding wind I have ever heard, there were no sirens, no Alexa alerts. Nothing.
But trees were down and structural damage was done in the surrounding neighborhoods.
All I know is that I have never heard anything like the sound of the wind that night. Scary
