NEW YEARS EVE

Here we are at the end of 2022.

No fancy dinner or live band.

 Here I am, sniffles and sneezing, 

a sexy deep voice 

due to the constant coughing. 

My head is pounding and 

my body feels exhausted. 

So here is to 2022. 

It was a busy, eventful 

and amazing year for me. 

I’m grateful for all the new 

experiences and bucket list 

events that I took part in. 

2023 is going to be 

WONDERFUL

Happy Last Friday of 2022

THIS PAN

Oh my gosh! My son and lovely daughter sent me a pan! It is an amazing pan! I love it! It made me want to cook!!! Thank you♥️♥️♥️

MY DENTIST

December 26th, I bit a Juicy Pear jellybean and my crown popped out of place. The crown was fine, the tooth was fine, the jellybean was trashed. I called my dentist’s office and left a message. If they could get me in this week I would be so grateful. I got a return call and today I was at the dental office by noon. There was only one other car in the parking lot. The dentist stuck his head out the door and waved me in. In the two minutes I sat in his office four more people came through the door. None of his staff was there, just him and all of us that needed his talents. As I sat in his patient chair, I could hear his kids playing in his office. He said he had just been at soccer practice with his kids (that explains why he was wearing shorts, when it’s 29 degrees outside with snow) and told them that if they could be good for a bit he would take them to Chick fil A for lunch. 

He said that he likes having all his emergency patients come in at once so he can just work right through. And sure enough, he had my crown cleaned, re-placed and ready to go in just minutes. All while telling me about one of the office girls going into labor last Friday and bringing that new baby home on Christmas Day, a whole month early. And how they are having a new house built but for now new baby joins the family with three siblings all in a two bedroom apartment. And how great the dad is, taking care of everyone and everything. 

And how Mrs Dentist just called because the fed ex driver was stuck in the driveway at their house out in the country. She asked what she should do and the dentist said he was sure fed ex could figure a way out of the driveway. 

I can’t say enough nice things about my dentist. He is always the cheeriest person, and that makes for a cheerful staff. It truly is a pleasure to see my dentist.

 As we drove along the snow covered road through the woods tonight, the sky was that deep shade of blue just before the sun is completely gone. The moon is just a sliver in the clear cold sky and standing at the edge of the forest were deer! This is my first White Christmas and I think it’s very nearly perfect!!

 Yesterday was December 21st. It was the day of the year with the shortest number of daylight hours, the longest night, the official start of winter and my daughters anniversary. I hope it was a wonderful day! Now we can look forward to the days getting longer… and winter!

Today is my last working Monday of 2022. What a crazy year it has been here at the Travel Office. I worked more, sold more, put out more travel fires than any year before. I will not be sad to wave goodbye to 2022. Bring it on 2023!

I have a client that is working on knocking out the last several things off his bucket list. He has been to all but two continents; Antarctic and South America. And he has been to all US cities with a 1/2 million population, except for Jacksonville, Florida and Sacramento, California. He told me he needs to get these things done so he can move on to other things. 

I love this!

DREAMS

Do you remember your dreams? I don’t always, but sometimes I have such vivid dreams I can recall tiny details. I had a dream several years ago with a surf shop/tiki hut in it. Another had neon pink striped wall paper covering every wall of a home I had been in. Last night I was placing vintage furniture in the lobby of a boutique hotel. Often times friends and loved ones are in my dreams, last nights was a star studded performance with several friends and family members in it. I dream in color. Vivid color. I have also died in a dream before, so since I’m writing about it, I guess the old wives tale about death if you die in your dream, is not true. 

Not all my dreams are pleasant. And some are re-accruing. As a child I had a dream that Witchiepoo from Pufinstuf was after me. It was scary. And I had that same dream repeatedly. 

I’ll take interior decorating over surf huts and witches any day!

Years ago, my foster dad told me that reading the news would make sure I have something to talk to people about. So I have become an avid reader. 

I read the News and Views most every morning. I have half a dozen sights that send me morning emails; everything from local news, NPR, CNN and my favorite 1440. I think 1440 is one of the best options out there. My favorite part of their email is the ETCETERA section. Tasty bits and pieces of interesting fluff. And they always end with a quote. I truly enjoy reading 1440.

MY WORLD

Work has been super, over the top busy lately and I can’t seem to get caught up. Home life has changed and I feel so blessed to have my kids here with me. The holidays are upon us and I became a year older. 

I know it’s silly, everyone goes though all this. But sometimes the weight of my world gets to feeling far too heavy. 

But today I let all the cares slip by. I spent time with my granddaughter and fell even more in love with her. I thought about all my children and my Kentuckianna kids too and remembered how very blessed I am. I thought about my reasons for moving to Kentucky and how my life has changed so much, and I smiled. I spent some time in the hot tub tonight, just floating in the hot water and I thought about my future. About the things I am working towards and the paths that have brought me to this point. 

I love my life, I love my peeps, I love where I live. ♥️♥️♥️

HANGING OUT WITH MAYBERRY

Today my daughter and son in law took a few hour for date time. They went for a chilly drizzly drive to see the Land Between the Lakes. 

While Mayberry hung out with Grammy and Papaw. 

We had a very merry happy Tea Party that went on for hours, we read books, played with lots of things… not necessarily toys and we worked on potty training!
