GO DO GOOD
The other day I was watching the Chicago Thanksgiving Parade and there on the side of the street was a sign that said...
I think it is a WONDERFUL idea!!! BRAVA!!!

Vocabulary Homework
Cookie was doing her homework last night. She had vocabulary words to study. She asked me to read and define them for her.
One of her words was:
Megalomania - A form of mental illness in which a person has exaggerated ideas of his own importance// an unrealistic belief in one's superiority, grandiose abilities, and even omnipotence. It is characterized by a need for total power and control over others, and is marked by a lack of empathy for anything that is perceived as not feeding the self.
As we read this together, our eyes met. Our thought was the same. I moved on quickly, she did not. She burst out laughing. We know someone with this mental issue.
Now we know it has a name!!!!

Team Bonding for $2.00
I don't mind getting up every day and going to work. I enjoy my job.... most of it anyway. And I really do love the people I work with. I can say that I work with friends. Yesterday as our shift was over, I was still on a call with an investor. I tend to block out the world around me when I am working and since I have the account holder in both ears, I am in the help zone until I am finished. As I finished up and started to shut down all my programs I notice that a few of my peers where still there.
Miss Virginia was taking the Powerball order. We have played as a team in the past, however we never win anything. But the drawing is tonight, and as the headlines on Google stated a few minutes ago...Powerball jackpot frenzy continues to rise to $550m!
Yes, my $2 are in! We know we have a better chance to be attacked by a shark. But as we all walked to our cars together, talking about the what ifs, I figured $2 is a small price to pay for team bonding! And SOMEBODY HAS TO WIN!!!!!

Right Now
Stop what you're doing and go OUTSIDE
and look at the moon for at least 10 seconds.
Then, think of 5 things you are
especially thankful for today.
Thanks to Tammy for sending this to me!
I was chatting with Cookie when I got it.
We both went outside and viewed the full moon.
I have so many things to be thankful for!
Quote of The Day
Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world.

Saturday
I spent Saturday cleaning my house.
And it was all so very worth it!
All laundry was done, even bedding.
Every surface was cleaned and dusted.
Bathrooms were scrubbed and polished.
Floors were vacuumed and mopped.
Spotless! Happy Dance For ME!!!
Black Friday
Mark wanted to go Black Friday shopping Thursday night. He talked his little sister in to sharing in the fun! And Amy went along as well!!! It was a great bonding, bargain shopping event! And they were all home and in bed by 1:30 am!
Cookie, Jessette and I all went out about 10am. I learned that there is no deal great enough for me to stand in that kind of line. So I didn't! But we did a bit of shopping at less crowded stores. And we had a very nice lunch. Mommy daughter bonding!
That evening I spent time and creativity with some girl friends, playing Santa's helper. I worked on a gift for my Emmaly, and Jessette was across town finishing her gift for her sister too. The evening was wonderful, just live the entire day! Black Friday is a Good Thing!!!

Poster
As a kid I never had posters on my walls.
I would have chosen Leif Garret or
Shawn Cassidy once upon a time.
This morning my son gave me
an early birthday gift!
And for the first time,
I have a super HOT guy
on my bedroom wall!!!
I love the magic!
His name is North.
I think his tattoos say IT ALL!!!
WOOHOO!!!!!

Seeing Her Clearly
I love each of my children.
Watching them grow into who they want to be
is such an amazing journey.
When I was pregnant with Cookie
I knew she would be my last.
I savored every little movement.
Now that she is a teen,
I cherish every minute.
Listening to her thoughts, her hopes,
her life and world,
helps me to see her clearly.
I love everything about her!!!!
THANKSGIVING
It's comfy and yummy.
Does it get better than that?
The day started off like every other
perfect Thanksgiving morning!
With the parade! In my jammies!!!
I had almost as much fun planning the menu,
as I did cooking it!
And at my table were
some of my very favorite people.
There was foot ball to be watched
and laughter to be shared!
It was perfect!!

ANNIVERSARY
Today was my anniversary!
I have lived on my own for three years today!!!
I still have to say... It was the BEST DECISION EVER!
I am so grateful for my children.
I chatted with and enjoyed Jessette all day,
I shared most of my day with Mark,
he reminds me that there are great men on earth!
Cookie, my delightful baby, was definitely my treat!!!
And just knowing Emmaly is where she is,
doing what she is doing, makes my heart happy!
I am happy in my cute home,
I am happy with my job, that I like going to,
Grateful for my car and the freedom it gives me.
I am grateful for my best friend
and the time he spent with me today.
and the time he spent with me today.
I'm also grateful for texts and email that reminded me
today that my friends all love and care about me!
today that my friends all love and care about me!
But most of all I am thrilled at where I am,
who I am and for where I am going,
IS ALL UP TO ME!
I am so HAPPY with where I am, who I am,
and where I am going.
I chose the BEST PART!
I Will Enjoy It ALL!
Happy Anniversary to ME!!

WE VOTED
I get the early ballot, so basically... read, fill in the lines, and mail. But this presidential election was special! And even though my candidate of choice did not win, it was a red letter day for me.
You see my son was old enough to vote this year. So he and I took a walk over to the school and he learned how to cast his vote! He found out that the prep in learning about the candidates and the propositions had been the tough part. That filling in the ballot and feeding it into the machine was the easy part. He saw that all walks of life and all adult ages show up to vote. He learned that even though your voice may be small, and your choice may not win, voting is not just the right thing to do as an American citizen, but it is an opportunity to show your ownership in our nation.
