FLU SHOT
I got my flu shot Wednesday afternoon. That evening my arm was a bit sore, so I worked with my 2# weights and after a good nights sleep (almost 8 hours) I never thought about my arm again. But yesterday I sure was tired. The work day was okay, but I felt exhausted. The drive home was so tiring. When I got home I changed clothes, put on my fluffy robe and sat on my sofa. Where I napped for an hour and a half. Then I got up and went to bed for 8 more hours. I do hope this is the flu shot and not just old age catching up with me. I have been up for 45 minutes this morning and could take another nap if I would just be still for a minute.

TRAVEL QUOTE
There’s something
adventurous about
committing to make
the far-flung familiar,
as opposed to enjoying
a place in the manner
of a saucy fling.

POLISH THERAPY
I met the most charming lady today. Her name is Gabriel, she said I could call her Gabby. I don’t think that is her true name, however it fit her well, so she said. Not only did she have the most wonderful artistic talent at making my nails look beautiful but she kept me laughing for my entire visit. We chatted with all the other folks in the salon, and we all did a lot of laughing. Gabby taught me how to say
“No speak English”!!! She speaks English beautifully. But oh my gosh was she funny! She said that a client once called her Hateful! How could that be? Gabby is delightful! She said after the client called her Hateful, she told her she “No speak English!” I laughed so hard!
The lady next to me and I decided that this is some amazing midweek therapy… along with great nails!
I tipped Gabby very well and I will call for my next appointment as soon as I need more laugh therapy.
And I plan on using “No speak English” with all my least favorite people! Nail love ♥️

How to be Happy…
Decide every morning
to be in a good mood.
If your absence doesn’t
bother them
then your presence
never mattered to
then in the first place.
Healing also means taking
responsibility for the role
you play in your own suffering.

THE FAIR
I love the Arizona State Fair, running through the end of October. Wish I could send Phoenix some Midwestern fall weather so everyone could truly enjoy the fair!

SATURDAY
Dropped off old uniforms and chatted with coworkers. Picked up Chick Fil A for breakfast. Stop at Target to pick up a pre-ordered baby shower treasures. Then wandered looking at Halloween costumes, toddler clothes, fall decor and khakis. Then off to the mall. Can you still call it a mall when it looks like a ghost town? Picked out lotion, soap and a Cinnamon Spiced Vanilla three wick candle. Off the Best Buy. Left Best Buy due to poor customer service. Stopped at AT&T, because they weren’t busy, customer service was great and they had right watch. Next off to Kohl’s. Too many folks wandering in there and nothing I really wanted. Stopped at McAlisters to get soup and a Rubin. Had lunch then a short nap. Two football games at 3pm…Seahawks and the Saints. Four grandkids in one spot! Win win.I spent the entire time holding the happiest baby. It was a very happy hour, sitting in the shade with a very lovey six month old. Stopped at the car show at Wesleyan Mall. So many cars and folks showed up. I loved the old trucks the best… as always! Then home for a short bit of down time. Then off to the High School Marching Band competition. Watched the sun setting as the high schools preformed. Four grandkids in one spot again. And can I just say, perfect weather all day!
Home for a dinner of leftovers as I watched cooking shows. I’m so tired. Time for bed. Saturday is over.
PROUD MOMENT NEW STARTS
John has taken a leap of faith in himself and his future. He opted to go outside his comfort zone and invest in himself. He had hit the ceiling at his job and was tired of micromanagement and days on his feet. So he followed the fork in the road and at the mature age of late 50 something he headed to try something new.
His old company uniforms have been laid to rest and a new home office is in the works. Yesterday he took his first training test for his new position and aced it with a 95.8%! So when he surprised me at the end of my work day by showing up at my office, we went out for a celebration dinner. Steak and strawberry salad!
I’m proud of him for taking the new path, for not staying where he felt stuck. I’m proud of him for trying something new and having faith in himself.
I’m looking forward to watching him excel at his new endeavor. Let the future unfurl!
