In my garage there are four young men, all on the same page, making some amazing, very very loud music. These are the things dreams are made of!!!

FAREWELL TO JANUARY
The
month of January did not start my new year the way I had anticipated.
I am very glad it is ending today. Medical and dental issues, court
issues, work, money, teen age issues, love life, plans for the near
future, then vertigo. If I didn't feel confused, lost and upside down
before, the last one sure knocked me on me fanny. The overwhelming
enormity sometimes just gets bigger than I thought it could.
Time
to slow down, to let the static electricity from the aftershock of so
many events subside. Count my blessings and share the gratitude. Pick
up the "Plan" and iron out the rumples, then regroup and
look at everything through a new vantage point. Focus on the
delightful children I have, and the man who loves me. The rest will
all work itself out. I know I am not alone. I know I am loved. I know
I don't chart my path alone.
CHINESE NEW YEAR
The
Chinese zodiac is a calendar system originating in the Han dynasty
(206-220BC), which names each of the years in its 12-year cycle after
an animal: the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat,
monkey, rooster, dog and pig, in that order. According to the system,
the universe is made up of five elements – earth, water, fire, wood
and metal – which interact with the 12 animals, resulting in the
specific character of the year ahead.
If
you were born in the year of the horse, you should be looking for
potential partners who were born in the years of the tiger, goat or
dog. Avoid those born in the year of the rat, ox, rabbit or horse.
You won't like them.

ADVENTURE
I talked to Tammy yesterday, we talked about how our lives are changing, home-life, responsibilities. We talked about new opportunities, adventures. Even though our paths have always been so vastly different, they mirror each others, it's nice to have someone who understands and can see not just where we stand but the vantage point we are looking at as well. Tammy put into words a feeling I have been struggling with for some time. She knows of the shoes I walk in, I am so grateful for that. Our paths are both coming to a fork, we both are looking to make changes. Deep breath, close your eyes, take that first giant leap of faith kind of change. And although it's rather exciting and terrifying all at once, as I look back from where I stand right now, once again, I can see the path that lead me here; I didn't navigate this path on my own. I see that someone else was sculpting my pathway. There are parts of this path I never would have chosen, parts I would like to avoid, today is a part I wish would never have happened. But I found out who my true friends are, I have learned much about people I thought I knew. I have learned that I am loved by many. I am prepared for today, those that love me will be there for me today, what ever will happen today will happen. Tomorrow is a new day. My dear friend David said, "Maybe it's time to concentrate on what makes you happy." I want that. I know what makes me happy! I am ready for the adventure! Tammy and I have more planning to do!
"Thank You" to~ Keith and Mark and Jessette and Tammy and David and the Crooning Accountant and Bill and Jenene...for helping me get through today's hiccup, I couldn't have done it with out you.

Virtual Road Trip
I took a virtual road trip today. I planned to rout and the destination. I didn't know I could do that. It was really cool.
I viewed 1774.74 miles, while I stayed busy in my house.
I plan on making that road trip this summer so it was really cool to see it all online today.

Erin's Baby Shower
Yesterday my daughters and I went to Erin Mill's Baby Shower, it was so nice!!! Erin's family is one of the most wonderful families I know, I love them. At the shower we saw Lindsey, Ellen, Hanna, Amanda and Chelsea! It was so fun to see them all grown up, to hear what they are up to, to see their little ones. They asked Cookie how old she is now, and she told them (14), she is older than they were when they all became friends. They asked her how old her brother is, she told them Mark is 19 now, they where shocked. I reminded them that in my mind each of them shouldn't yet be 19. It is so funny how time keeps moving forward. I love all these young people, even though I may not have seen them in years, they are just the same, as I am just the same. I can't wait to see Erin and Tony's new baby girl, their little boy is so delightful! We all had a lovely time.

BUSY SUNDAY
Spent time with my BFF, then spent time with Cookie, did breakfast and took her to see her BFF, filled the Tahoe with gas and had it washed, ensured the Golden Arches would keep Chocolate Chip Frappa' on it's menu, shared my favorite country station with my neighborhood as I sprayed every weed in the yard and cleaned out the garage, wrote a letter to a friend, aired out the house as I dusted it, spent time with Mark, washed every dirty piece of clothing, towel and tennis shoe, picked up Cookie, took a load to Good Will, made spicy meat balls, marinara, pasta and ravioli, did dinner with my kids, froze the second dinner for another night, prepped lunches for the week, cleaned the kitchen, sculpted my eyebrows and conditioned my hair.

FIRST FRIDAY
I know I have talked about it before, but if you live in or around Phoenix, you really need to check out First Friday! The Arizona Science Center puts on an Adults only night. The Science Center is free to 18 and up that night. They always have a theme and a lecture. If you are an educator, you do get credit for the lecture. You don't need to do the lecture if you would rather play with all the stuff.
It's a great date night activity!!
Check out the other happenings in the Heritage Park as well. This month the Rosson House was open for a $2.00 tour, and the tour guide,Mike, was great. But they also has a "Victorian Secret" exhibit. With a great display of turn of the century unmentionables! It was really cool. Best spent $1.00, for a blast from the past.
