Thought Of The Day
If you love somebody
and you want to be with them,
then go get them.
Deal with the mess later.
We don't know what tomorrow will bring.
and you want to be with them,
then go get them.
Deal with the mess later.
We don't know what tomorrow will bring.

Today In History
1886 The people of France gifted the Statue of Liberty to the United States of America.
I Met This Lady
Yesterday at work a client called in for help with her investments. I gave her the information, I showed her some options, I directed her to speak with a financial adviser to get the best coverage. She said she was going through some issues, she said it more than once. Then she said she was going through a divorce. I asked her how she was doing. She was born in 1950, that makes her 62. She had been married for 40 years. She said she thinks she is doing okay, or at least she will be. I do try to keep work just work, but sometimes it gets real life. I told her I was on the happy side of divorce for more than two years now. And that the life adventure is so much sweeter now. She said that she just took a trip to New York with her grown son. She had a wonderful time. And on this trip she realized that "sometimes husbands are just extra baggage hanging on your ass!" She caught me off guard on that, I laughed and laughed. I agreed with her completely, and let her know I though her finances and she would be just fine. Some people make me LOVE my job!!!

The Weather
I love when the weather is nice enough to have the windows open all the time. It is almost 8:30 am and it is 69 degrees here. The high is going to reach to the mid 80's, I think this is what summer weather is supposed to be like. I love it! The Weather Channel says all week will look the same!!!
Come visit.... the weather is perfect!

Hello Weekend!
A relaxing dinner with a friend, now stretching out in the hammock! I may stay here all night!
(I'm just delighted the migraine is on it's way out!)
(I'm just delighted the migraine is on it's way out!)
Migraine
The word derives from the Greek ἡμικρανία (hemikrania), "pain on one side of the head". Migraines are disabling headaches that most likely stem from problems with the nerves and blood vessels in the head. Migraine headaches typically last from 4-72 hours. Associated symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, photophobia (increased sensitivity to light),phonophobia (increased sensitivity to sound) and the pain is generally aggravated by physical activity. Up to one-third of people with migraine headaches perceive an aura: a transient visual, sensory, language, or motor disturbance which signals that the headache will soon occur. The primary theory is related to increased excitability of the cerebral cortex and abnormal control of pain neurons in thetrigeminal nucleus of the brainstem.
Causing a total waste of a good day! Thank you for taking care of me PJ!

What should I say?
Be careful on the stairs!
Don't run.
Don't trip.
Don't drown.
Don't get kidnapped.
Don't, don't, don't, don't.
I say DO.
Do And
Have Fun Doing It!
Have Fun Doing It!

Without assurance,
without guarantees of a safe landing,
without guarantees of a safe landing,
JUST JUMP.

Early Morning Commute
I love to drive!
My commute to work takes all of,
maybe 15 minutes, and its nearly all freeway.
Road rage isn't something I have an issue with.
By the time I am out of my subdivision,
I have my windows down and the stereo cranked.
My morning cup of caffeine so to speak!
Yesterday on my way to work,
I was merging into the turn lane.
When this kid in this sporty little number
nearly drove right up my skirt, so to speak.
Not wanting an early morning altercation
I just scooted over.
Well, he flew by!
And right behind him
pulled up one of the cities finest!
There at the red light we all waited.
Green is for go... and we did.
As we headed around the turn single file,
the lights went on and Hot Rod got pulled over!
My windows were down, my music was cranking,
I smiled and thought....It's going to be a great day!!!
Entertainment and my cup of caffeine!
Problem . . . . . Solution!
The Problem.
She came home with this precious gift and said
"Look what Dad got me!"
I thought.... 'can I send a thank you note saying
"Thanks for buying my 13 year old
5 inch hooker heals!" ?'
The Solution.
Sister bonding time!
Cookie could not walk in these delightful shoes.
Big sister came on over to give Cookie a
lesson on walking like a lady!
She also listened to the latest
literary masterpiece!
Watching these two sisters together is wonderful!
They adore each other!
And as Jessette said
"Isn't that what Sisters Do!"
so... "Thanks for the great shoes.
And the opportunity for another great
sister bonding afternoon!"

Parent Teacher Conference
They said "Student Led".... I have no student with me today. It's not my day! Grades are pretty good! Really great actually! I have spoken to all the teachers except the science teacher, he has kept me waiting for over 30 minutes. Although I have to say, it's been nice chatting with the teachers I have known for over a decade. Is it wrong that I see the teachers for parent teacher conf. more often than I see my friends? Maybe I need a refresher course on friends. . . . . . Ok, way off track here. I'm going to find the science teacher, then I'm ready for happy hour!

......and in other news.......
I
get alot of email at work, ALOT. And I will be the first to admit, I
don't read it all. Shocking I know. But that's just how it goes.
Today everyone at Discover got an email from HR. I glanced over it,
there will be training, new timekeeping. Blah blah blah. Then my boss
called a five minute meeting. We huddled. Part of this informative
yet boring email said... ....
"Also,
based on our analysis, on October 12, you may be eligible to receive
pay for time spent signing on to your system prior to starting your
workday. This payout is only applicable if you worked during the time
period of May 17, 2010 – August 5, 2012. When your pay is received,
if eligible, you will be required to electronically acknowledge the
receipt of payment by Friday, October 26."
Someone
did the math, many of us will be receiving an additional 43
hours of pay on the next pay check. Can we all say WOOHOO!!! I have
to send some love to the Department of Labor! Thanks for looking out
for the working stiffs!!!!
Happy Dance!!!
On the eve.....
Last night Mark got off work at 11. When he gets home he always checks in to tell me he is here. He likes to tell me the happenings of his day, even though I am sleepy and he knows I probably wont remember come daylight. But last night I made it a point to be coherent. Since today was going to be the last day to register to vote, and knowing I may not get any time with him, I wanted to make sure he took the opportunity. We pulled up the site, we made sure it was all filled in and submitted. I looked at my boy and I said "You are a registered American Voter"! He said "I'm an upstanding member of society."
Yes he is! I couldn't be more proud. Come November, his voice too will be heard.
Proud parenting moment! ..........Now just to get him to donate blood!!
(A BIG THANK YOU To BILL, For Sending Me In The Right Direction!)

Patience
Patience....
I haven't done it very well in the past. And now I am having to live by it.
I see I am calmer on the outside when I put it to practice. But my insides are a mess.
Calmness is a byproduct of it, so are ulcers and insomnia.
I haven't yet mastered that ability to disconnect my inner screaming panic button.
Yet I know no one else hears it but me, and I am the only one effected by it.
When you have patience all seems to run smoothly, everything in its place.
But really, I think I almost prefer the chaos of 'My Way Now'.
It's a control issue. If I control my patience level, I control my world.
I don't remember when I decided I wanted to live in this world of patience,
I think I like the other avenues a bit better. Perhaps I need to rethink this.
