St Louis

Friday afternoon
Working tonight and tomorrow at the AAA Travel Show here in St Louis.
Stopped at one of my favorite stores on my way into town.
Only to find that they are going out of business.
I love St. Louis, but not so much fun without a travel buddy.
I’ll stop at the Hill on my way out of town tomorrow, that’s sure to make me smile.
Friday evening
Finished rubbing shoulders with other travel agents and travel reps.
Food and beverages were available...but there is a Jack in the Box taco 🌮 waiting for me.
However, tired Angie made a wrong turn on the way out of the parking lot to find Jack in the Box.
And had a tour of several highways and St Louis suburbs. Finally found it, ordered. And paid in cash.
A slightly scary area, so when I got my order from the window and no change, I just figured there was a $0.79 gratuity! Enjoy!
Saturday morning
Holiday Inn has great pillows! The king size bed was great also. I slept across the bed, side to side. The bed was huge. The shower had to be turned on once you were in it, that was awful. But the tea selection was great! (And yes, a cold Jack in the Box taco was my breakfast!)
Just about ready to go do my job... then shop, fill up my travel car (Thank you JR for taking care of me when I travel) and head back to enjoy the weekend.

One Month

A month from today I will be flying to Phoenix.

I haven't been this homesick since I was 19. 

The need to see the things that are familiar. 

I need to hug my children. 

I need to love on my grand puppies.

I want to see my beloved mountains. 

I need to breath in warm, dry air.

I am praying for some rain though, 

to smell that amazing aroma of a desert rain storm. 

I want to view the Grand Canyon,

Drive through Sedona's red rocks.  

I plan on going to the Arizona Renaissance Festival.

I want to go to my favorite book store, looking for just the right thing. 

I want to have dinner with my children at Manuel's,

and pick up Filberto's to bring back with me. 

I need to remember what life was like in the Southwest, 

and remember what took me to the Midwest. 

The Phoenician girl needs to go home. 

I'm counting the days.

SNOW SHOVEL

11:20 pm
I am woken from my toasty hibernation by a sound I am not at all familiar with.
Upon engaging my drowsy brain and realizing I have no idea what that sound is,
I flung off the 30 some pounds of blankets that I am cocooned in and literally jump out of bed.
I threw open the lace curtains and looked through the blinds.
There was a white truck in the parking lot with lights on, and several people in heavy
winter attire stomping through the 4 inches of fresh powdery snow outside.
My groggy brain then realized that the sound was this group shoveling the snow from
each door stoop in my neighborhood. They then proceeded to spread salt over each door step.
Then just as fast as they could, have they moved on to the next street.
The side of the truck had read Super Cutz; the same crew that cuts the lawns here at my complex.
This service they have provided left me in an awed sleepy amazement.
So kind, so thoughtful, so helpful and well... warm and fuzzy.
I love winter here in the Midwest. I love the magic that it conjures in my childlike heart.
I love that there are still people taking care of other peoples well being, even at 11:20pm in the snow!
....  Back to my toasty hibernation and 30 some pounds of coziness awaitingw me on this chilly night. Snow shovels what a wonderful sound!

The snow plow arrived at 3:50am. Feeling very well cared for!!

National Championship Halftime

The game is on but I watched Sabrina with Julia Ormond on my laptop. It is one of my favorite movies. But the half at halftime Imagine Dragons preformed. I have some of their best work on my Loud playlist. I think I have listened to natural a million times in the past month. Good stuff.
