ReSoLuTioN KePT

I made a few New Year Resolutions this year, and I have been very successful with a couple of them so far. But I have put one off. I set a goal to visit a museum or the like, every month of 2016. And as of today, the last day on January, I had yet to accomplish that monthly goal.
I had planned to go today, sneaking it in at the final hour so to speak, but I just wasn't feeling it today. (The weather was amazing today, I had errands to run, things to do around the house... I just wasn't feeling it.)
Then...
I got a text from a friend, she asked if I had met my goal. I said no. I was looking for socks at Kohl's. She asked if that was my fun event. Then she asked if I had walking shoes on. I said no, but since I live in Mayberry, it would take 15 to get them. She said to meet her down by the river. I grabbed my old sneakers and headed to Newburgh. I honestly think Newburgh is one of the most charming little towns. I met my friend and we went for a walk along the trail. It truly was perfect weather, there were lots of other people enjoying the day also. The Ohio River is so beautiful, and I love that the Kentucky side is lined in woods. As we started out, my friend said she thought that our walk would take care of my Monthly Museum Goal as well. Along our path there were historic markers, the first cabin in the area, the first lock house, and the Newburgh Dam and Locks. A History museum of sorts!! We also viewed charming house on the hills, cardinals and beautiful views. I thoroughly enjoyed the time with my friend, and I am grateful for her assistance in helping me to reach my New Year Resolution!

One of My Favorite Things

Concur : to act or happen together, to be in agreement

I love this word. There is something about it, when it is pronounced, that makes me happy!

PiCS

I know that I am loved when...
He takes pictures of
The little things that make me happy.
Like the squirrel in the bird feeder.
And when he sends me pics of
Car Parts,
Because those make him happy!!

I can tell you that driving in the snow scares me to bits. However, snow is the most beautiful embellishment ever. My normal daily drive to work takes me through the most beautiful residential area, lovely homes that don't look like cookie cutters, gorgeous yards and the most wonderful huge trees. My daily drive is such a joy, but when there is snow on the darling houses, covering the yards and hanging on the branches of every tree….it’s breathtaking.

This morning I watched the snow come down harder and harder, the air was white. I left early so I could let the car warm up and I could dust it all off. The snow is dry, it’s fluffy. The snowflakes are big and beautiful. The snow plows hadn’t been on all the smaller streets yet, so they were covered in about 3 inches of snow. Everything was white. I must have been the only neighbor to go to work today, because there were no other tire tracks other than mine. I chose to take the path more traveled to get to work today. There is more traffic and I hoped there would be clearer roads. The snow was dirty, and I only drove about 30 miles per hour, making sure I was cautious and careful. I still found myself enjoying the beauty.

As I look out my office window, EVERYTHING is white. The snow is coming down horizontally and it is really blowing.

It’s amazing here….
I guess I truly love it!
I am so thankful to be in Kentuckiana!

"What happens in the Vega,
stays in the Vega"
How many women can say that their man's
race care is a Vega, that he keeps in the barn?
That is just HOT!!
I love my man (and his Vega)!!!!

Thought of The Day

If you consider yourself a Christian and a liberal, maybe you need to decided which one you are because you can't be both.

BiTTeR

I woke up to 7 degree weather. My weather app told me it felt like -4. As I drove to work the weather man said it was "Bitter Cold". As I drove home tonight there were snow flurries. And now that I'm going to bed, it's warmed up to a toasty 13 degrees!
I'm very thankful for electric heat, lots of blankets, and socks!

Hmmmm!

AZ Men

I find it funny, (strange funny) that my big have to's since I moved to the Hoosier state, have all been installed by men from Arizona.
They all ask "What brought you here? Family?"
I always say "The GREEN is what won my heart. Family is what caused me to relocate."
They all understand!
The MIDWEST just looks good on a man!

LIFE

"It shouldn't be awkward - if it's awkward, there's already a problem," . . . . "If somebody is making you feel guilty for asking questions, you shouldn't be there - period, full stop - no matter what standards they're working to."

*This was part of an article on finances, however, I think it goes for all important life issues.
All of them!

WHAT?

David Bowie died!
I didn't think that was possible, I thought he made a pact with someone years ago, and he was going to live forever! WoW

My Perfect Neighbor

I have the best neighbor ever!
It's 15 degrees outside, and he shoveled the snow all the way from our front doors to my car.
I'm going to bake him cookies!!!

Out With The Old

When I was on my way into work, on the last work day of 2015, I was following a Volvo. It was a very chilly morning, so when the back window rolled down and a young child leaned out the moving car, I was surprised. When the child started to vomit out the window, I was glad I was far enough out of range that I didn't have to share in the experience.
The poor little guy did that bit of loveliness three times before dear parent pulled over. It was one of those moments I knew that my day wasn't going to be a bad one, because it wasn't my baby tossing his cookies all over the side of my car on New Years Eve.

SMaRTS

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit.

Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

Philosophy is wondering if that means ketchup is a smoothie.

Christmas Flowers

A friend gave me a bouquet of Christmas flowers a few weeks ago. He said it was just "A little something". The flowers have been on my piano since that day. I have loved looking at them. They have added to this holiday season and I am grateful for someone's thoughtfulness.
I clipped the loveliest flowers to dry today. All happy things should have tangible memories.

First World Problem

My son and I were skyping this morning. I love spending time with him. He was eating ice cream for breakfast. He showed me the brand, it is our favorite rocky road. I told him I haven't had ice cream in a really long time, there just isn't enough room in my freezer to store it.
He said "Sounds like a first world problem mom. You don't have enough space in your freezer because of all the bacon you have in there."
True so true!! But bacon is a must have item!! Even more than ice cream for breakfast!!
