Resiliency

Resilience is the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or even significant sources of stress – such as family and relationship problems, serious health problems, or workplace and financial stressors. It means bouncing back from difficult experiences.
Research tells us that resiliency is ordinary, not extraordinary. Look around to your friends, family, and co-workers. You will see examples of others bouncing back from adversity.
Emotional pain and sadness are common to people who suffer adversity and it is common to experience intense emotions on the road to resilience. Resilience is not something we are born with. The good news is we can learn to be resilient. We can all learn the behaviors, thoughts and actions to be resilient.
