SWEET TEA

I was always one to drink water. It’s the best beverage for your body and all that. Lemon water is my favorite.
But several years ago I started drinking those sugar free flavored mixes that you can get everywhere. I was on an orange kick for quite a while and called it Tang. But then I branched out and ended up not caring so much for tang anymore. I did peach tea flavor for a while, and really liked that, and I’m currently on a pomegranate, blueberry binge! Yum!
But I have been trying to diversify and reduce my intake of artificial sweeteners.
So I have been brewing tea. I grew up on sun tea, but back then you added so much sugar to it. Now I try to avoide t sugar most of the time. But, I have been adding a packet of Stevia in my big insulated cup… and I was finding hard to finish the whole thing. Until today, when I added three packets of Stevia… GAME CHANGER!!!
Man oh man,  Sweet Tea is AWESOME! I guess I was denying the truth that I love the sweet in sweet tea. Long story short, do what ever it takes to up the water intake.
I’m a very happy, hydrated girl!

THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less
traveled by, and that has made
all the differences.”
-Robert Frost

I don’t think I will ever stop being amazed but the colors of fall.
And there is nothing as magical as autumn’s confetti!

THE POWER OF FUN

Fun is always
a priority for me.
Nothing is worth
the lack of fun.
AM

MY BABY

So long ago, I miss her with all my heart. ♥️

SUNRISE

As I drove through the countryside this morning, I looked into my rear view mirror and saw the sun just coming up through the woods. There was a red barn filled with drying tobacco just on the edge of the woods. It is a beautiful morning.

GEEZER’S PARADOX

You don’t become
cooler with age,
but you do care progressively less
about being cool.
Which is the only
true way of being cool.

YOUR ENTHUSIASM

Follow your enthusiasm.
It’s something I’ve always
 believed in.
Find those parts of your life
 you enjoy the most.
Do what you enjoy doing.

THE DIPPER

This little shop has been around for a very long time. It is so popular that the patient customers line up down the road. Some of the best soft serve ice cream ever!

IF YOU STOP BY

If you stop by my office today and I’m napping at my desk, please be kind.
You see I had a 7am dental visit, then I went home and made a crockpot full of meatballs and marinara (to take as part of dinner for a family member in need), then I started a crockpot full of potato cheddar soup (for our family cook out this weekend). Then I made breakfast and then I headed to work.
I’ve accomplished quite a bit here at the office so far, but this hold music the cruise line has me listening to is making me very drowsy.

So if you stop in to see me, just be kind, I’m doing my best!

POWERFUL CONFIRMATION

A female friend once said

“I LOVE WHO YOU ARE INSIDE”

Such a powerful confirmation
from one woman to another.

TO QUOTE MISS MONROE

“One of the best things that happened to me
is that I am a woman.
All women should feel that way."

"Dogs don't bite. People do."

"I don't feel like spring. I feel like a hot red autumn."

"Laugh when you're sad.
Crying is too easy."

"No one told me I was beautiful when I was a child.
All children should be told they're beautiful, even if they're not."

"It's better to be alone than miserable with someone."

"Imperfection is beauty and madness is genius.
It's better to be ridiculous
than to be boring."

"Disappointments make you open your eyes and close your heart."

"I'm a little girl in a big world trying to find someone to love."

"I've never left someone
I believed in."

"I have never cheated anyone. Sometimes I let men make their own mistakes."

"If I had followed all the rules, I wouldn't have gotten anywhere."

"It's easier to love a man than to live with him."

"Don't hang your head,
keep your forehead up and smile,
because life is a beautiful thing and you have many reasons to smile."

VISION OR TRICKERY

I had an optometrist appointment today. I wear glasses for distance and as I waited to see the highly trained professional, I viewed the art on the walls….

… is it my eyes or is it the art on the walls? Something was off!
So I asked the girl at the counter, and she laughed and said “Is it blurry to you? Maybe you need glasses!”

I think I was a set up!!!

GRANDMA’S TABLE

My grandmother was full blooded Italian, and first generation American. She was the youngest of six children, the only child in her family to be born in the U.S.
She was wonderful.
She married a second generation German-English American boy.

Grandma made the most amazing food. Pasta, marinara, sausage, and lasagna, to mention just a few favorites. She could make every yummy Italian delicacy. Grandma prepared all her meals with love, and most of them in cast iron.

The meal that stands out in my memory as the most common dinner she made, was not Italian.
I think it must have been one of granddad’s favorites, because Grandma made it so regularly.
Cast iron pan fried beef patties (no buns), instant mashed potatoes with butter and canned green beans. Definitely not an authentic Italian meal, but it sure reminds me of home.

I would really love to sit at Grandma’s table with her one more time.
