VACATION

Vacation: an extended period of recreation, especially one spent away from home or traveling.

I had the opportunity to go on a nine day vacation. I had moments of doubt and worry prior to going. (I am grateful for my man who talked me off the cliff when those moments hit.)
Once I was there, I was so very happy to have returned to my home town to spend my vacation. I saw those I love and adore...and was very grateful for the time and effort they made to see me, spend time with me and make me feel at home. I was blessed to meet my son's lady and love of his life. I fell in love with her too. I was so lucky to be able to spend time with her family as well. I truly adore them and I am tickled to be able to call them family.
I was able to see friends that have missed. It was so nice catching up with them and I am inspired to keep in closer contact from here forward.
Phoenix was just the same...but better. So much new mixed in with the old. I saw all the places I love and visited all the have to spots!
It was fun checking in on FB at each place I went. A traveling road map so to speak.
I tried to look at Phoenix through the eyes of a tourist, a new prospective. I love it there. I really do.
I had a great vacation, but part of me couldn't wait to come home. Back to the part of the country I chose...that I love. I was even excited to come back to work.
Phoenix may be my home town, but this bit of the Midwest I am living in, is my home!

Desert Rain

There are few smells more lovely than rain in the desert.
Snuggled up listening to Arizona rain is wonderful!

PHOENIX TRIVIA

Phoenix has an average annual rainfall of only 7.6 in/19 cm, and it enjoys around 325 sunny days per year.
Phoenix is on Mountain Standard Time and never moves the clock forward or back for daylight saving time. Only the Navajo Nation observes the time change in Arizona.
Phoenix is the sixth-largest city in the U.S. and the largest state capital.
About one in three of Phoenix's residents play at least one round of golf a year.
The Waste Management Phoenix Open is the most highly attended event on the PGA Tour, attracting more than a half-million spectators each year.
In 1950, Phoenix covered 17 sq mi/44 sq km. Today it covers almost 500 sq mi/1,295 sq km, an area larger than Los Angeles.
Phoenix has more sunshine than any other metropolitan area in the U.S. The sun shines 85% of the time during daylight hours in Phoenix.

4. Euterpe, "she who gladdens," is the Muse of Lyrical
poetry and flute music.

6 Polyhymnia, "rich in hymns," is the Muse
of sacred songs.
7. Thalia, "festive," is the Muse of comedy

8. Terpsichore, "she who rejoices in dance,"

9. Urania, "heavenly," is the Muse of astronomy.

Who knew!

Point Of View

Six years ago I wrote:
Don't you love when you look
at something from a different view point,
the same situation becomes clearer?
Then lots of pieces of your puzzle
instantly fit into place.

I love that!

Six Years Ago Today

Yesterday I learned
that taking inventory
of what you want is good.
You may be working at
something that down deep
you really don't want,
it was just the
Next thing on your list.
Let it go,
reevaluate
and move forward!

2 Years Ago Today

Two years ago today it snowed in Kentucky. I remember it being the most beautiful day.
Then I headed to work, hit black ice, and my car flipped in a ditch. It was a very scary day.
I felt utterly alone. Then swarms of people were there. There was help all around me.
It was the longest scary beautiful day I hope to ever remember.

Over The River and Through The Woods

Tonight there will be a Super Moon.
It will appear bigger and brighter tonight than it will until 2034.
The last two nights I drove home from Owensboro at sunset.
The moon was so bright as I drove through the woods, just Beautiful.
As I drove over the twin bridges,
the reflection on the Ohio River was spectacular!
I wished I could just stop right there
on the bridge and take a photo or two.
I love the romance of the heavens.... Amazing!!!

I VOTED

I still think if we could have Julie Andrews for president, with Dick Van Dyke for vice, and Judge Judy for Sec. of State; our nation would grow some manners, regain our morals, get back to the path of greatness, re-establish patriotism, national solidarity, national pride and community motivation. All while becoming a more delightful and well behaved group of people.
They would have not just my vote, but my support and loyalty.
