Quote of The Day

"Being busy
does not always mean real work.
The object of work is production
or accomplishment
and to either of these ends
there must be forethought,
system, planning, intelligence,
 and honest purpose,
as well as perspiration.
Seeming to do is not doing."
Thomas A Edison

Something new....but yet....not

I tried the new Oreo Thins last night.
I was skeptical, but so up to the challenge.
To my surprise, they were very good.
The perfect combination in a crispier version.
But just to make sure....I had a Double Stuffed Oreo
Just to make sure the world was still right!!!

Today we may try them both with peanut butter,
Because it makes Oreo's even yummier!!!!
Just saying!

Thought of The Day

We need to think about this.
If we elect someone who has
criminal tendencies doesn't that
set an example for everyone else?
"It's okay to not play by the rules,
you can get away with it
and make it to the top."
It all comes back to respect.
I think we need to vote for someone
that respects our nation,
respects the American people
and that lives a life
that we can respect. amj

LIVING

There comes a time in life when
you walk away from all the drama
and people who create it.
Surround yourself with people
who make you laugh,
forget the bad, and focus on the good.
Love the people who treat you right.
Pray for the ones who don't.
Life is too short to be anything but happy.
Falling down is part of life,
getting back up is living.

Agenda

Tonight I sat down to write out my agenda for tomorrow (my boss says an agenda is better than a list) like I usually do. But as I opened my notebook, I found there were no more blank pages.
Does this mean I can skip all the things I thought I needed to do tomorrow?

Dinner

Spent an hour making dinner, sat down with a beautiful meal and a chilled glass of sweet tea... And the tornado sirens go off.
Really!!

..... Let the storm come, dinner was amazing and a spoon of whipped cream for dessert made it all perfect!

This Man

Some times he does things that catch me off guard,
Letting me know I was on his mind.
He has this quiet, peaceful way of melting my heart,
I am captivated by this wonderful man.
He loves me.

Yucky

Clients just left my desk, another agent in the office is telling a couple about the lack of perks coming from Disney, and the insurance guy in the lobby is talking with a bald man and a girl in a pink ball cap, wearing matching shirts. As I went to my filing cabinet I realized this was a deja vu moment. I have seen all this before. Then I realized it was a really bad dream, I started feeling sick all over.

All seems okay... All those people have now left the building. I really think I need some down time!

How you make others feel about themselves,
says a lot about you.

Thought of The Day

One day, when my children are grown, I hope they still come through the front door without knocking. I hope they head to the kitchen for a snack and rifle through the mail looking for a magazine they always read. I hope they come in and feel the weight of adulthood leave them, for they are home. For my children, my door will forever be open. Above all else, I hope they know this without me telling them.
Love speaks clearly enough.

SUMMER

Last week I took a drive to Owensboro.
I love it there.
The area had been hit by several hard storms
in the past few weeks.
I saw many downed trees
and damaged buildings.
As I saw the huge broken and splintered trees,
I realized that this is nothing new to the area.
I guess I thought that it would be disaster,
but it wasn't.
The trees were being cut and hauled,
the buildings were tarped and being repaired.
I was in awe at how the damage was
part of the cycle of life so to speak.
There was a convertible going down
highway 56, the picture of a Sunday drive.
And as I drove, I once again fell in love with summer in Kentucky.

MID-WEST?

Why do they call this the Midwest?
If you look at the U.S. map,
you will see that Tennessee,
Kentucky and Indiana are east
of the center of the map.
So why do they say
I live in the Midwest?
like to think that I live in the
Eastern half of our country.
No matter what name you give
the region, it's home to me!

Happy With Me

It's funny, when
you look at pictures of your kids
 when they were little,
and now that they are grown
 you think
"I really like how they turned out!"

I saw a picture of me,
 taken 32 years ago today,
 I thought the same thing.

I really like the me I turned out to be!

Thought of The Day

You do not raise your inlaws or teach them things like bathroom cleaning skills. As with the strange adults our children turn into, we need to love them for who they are, not for the skills they don't choose to poses!

Social Media

I watch the local news very rarely and the national news close to never.
I have to admit, as I'm divulging my news follies, that I do get a lot of my 'news and views' tid bits off of FB. I am a firm believer that if you get your daily intake of world and local happenings online, just as well as from the 6 o'clock programming, you can be assured you are getting all the truth!! NOT

I do pull information up online, and I talk about lots of topics with my man regularly (he keeps up on the world and local happenings).
As I viewed FB today, I came to the understanding that there have been more senseless killings, our sad political situation is still pathetic, and stupidity is, as always running rampant!

I do read Bloomberg Businessweek, Wired, Motor Week, O, Living, Cosmo, on occasion, and Men's Health (because it's way better than Cosmo!).
I have several books on my night table, I listen to audio books and my man has stared me listening to pod casts.

That said, and knowing that I'm not well read, or well informed, I can honestly say that the info that is out there, is not all bad.

I do believe that what is out for our informed consumption is just someone's opinion of the truth. And thus, I take it all in stride.

But, I am truly enjoying all those videos of 30 second food prep that make my mouth water!

Quote of The Day

There are few things more pathetic than those who have lost their curiosity and sense of adventure, and who no longer care to learn.
