TEARS

Crying is how your heart speaks when your lips can't explain the pain you feel.

FLAT JAKE

My dear friend Mrs Hallaqt teaches 3rd grade. Her class is learning about communities. So they are sharing the love with "Flat Stanley"! I was lucky to get to play along. Cameron sent me a sweet letter and his friend "Flat Jake".
Jake and I have had a blast together and I have now sent the pictures of our adventures back to Cameron and Mrs Hallaqt's class. Flat Jake is on his way to Arizona for more adventures. I thought I would share a bit here too!

I Needed That

I listened to a stranger talk of life and love and happiness.
As he spoke, the words he said were familiar to me;
the happy way he went on, the sparkle in his attitude.
I was mesmerized by him.
As I took a step back and mentally digested
all I had just taken in,
I realized he mirrors my view points, philosophies
and life choices.

We don't get to see ourselves clearly, as others see us.
But this view of myself, through someone else confirms that I am happy with who I am, how I think and feel,
and the paths I have chosen.
I am grateful for this stranger and the shot of self confirmation.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

I know every day is a gift, but where's the receipt for Monday?
I want to exchange it for another Friday!

"IT WAS STRANGE, I REFLECTED...
THAT EVEN IN THE WEIRDEST CIRCUMSTANCES, THE MOST
TROUBLING EPISODES OF

DIVIDES FROM HOME AND
FAMILIARITY, THERE WERE
MOMENTS OF UNDENIABLE JOY."

SOUND TRACK

Before I ever came to Kentucky, I had made a sleeping sound track labeled "Kentucky Rain". I had mixed the sounds of gentle rain and a rapid creek. The sound of it would play on the nights I couldn't sleep.
Then I moved to Kentucky. I live by the creek now, I get to hear the rain often, the rustling of leaves, and the happy little critters all add so much to life's real sound track.
I'm a happy girl!

SUNDAY MORNING

I have already been to church this morning. But that's not where I talked with God. We chatted as I drove through the country side, as I viewed all the colors he used creating fall this morning. We chatted as I gathered tomatoes and green beans from my happy little garden. We sat silently together here on my deck, listening to the crickets and birds, hearing the water trickle along the creek, feeling the chilly breeze as it rushes through the trees. We talked, and I was content. But the way he has filled my heart today, once again, tells me I am so loved, and everything is okay.

FALL

The leaves are turning. I have longed to watch this autumn event my whole life. The leaves with their new fall fashions in golds, pinks, reds, burgundies and brown's. The summer feilds are being harvested, the freshly plowed earth is ready to be replanted with winter crops. There has been so much rain, that from my porch you can listen to the rushing creek. There has been fog many mornings, and a few evening too. This morning the fog hung in the trees like it was poured there. Thick in some areas and light in others. The fog was very dense as I traveled down the highway, causing each bend and hill to be new and storybook like. There is a pasture along my drive, with fat happy cows. Next to the pasture there is a beautiful pond surrounded by forest. Beside that forest there were two white horses in a clearing. Beautiful, amazingly beautiful!
I love where I live. This is where I belong!

THE CANDYBAR THIEF

I have a friend who as a very young child, went to the grocery with her mom.
While there, she took a candy bar. When they got home, her theft was discovered.
Her dad loaded her back into the family car and headed to the grocery.
When she tried to return the candy, the store clerk told them that they couldn't return it.
So dad gave his little shoplifter the money to pay the for the stolen treat.
Lesson learned....? Well, the best part of the lesson came on the drive home,
when dad ate the candy in front of the pouty Candy Bar Thief!!

SOMETHING NEW

Today I not only had my Miranda rights read to me, but I was the one on the wrong side of the two way mirror.
I never thought I would be there.

A SUNDAY STROLE

It was very chilly this morning, so I put a cute sweater on the Cheree. Then we headed outside. Like lightning, she was out the door. I had wanted to go across the road and get a good look at the Warren's tobacco barn, but when I turned around to get the retractable leash, I realized that I had locked the door behind me.
....You know that panic that runs through you at that moment, well I only has a second to endure that, as I turned around to see the dog bolting past the barn and onto the road.
The area we live in is very rural, the road is very narrow and the neighbors drive like they had to be there hours ago. So I took off after the dog. She came when I called her, almost! The more I called, the faster she ran. We have lived here for 4 months now, and this was the first time she has gone out of the yard; our yard is an acre, surrounded by fields and a creek, its not like there isnt enough space for the tiny dog. Half way up the road I thought, "I'll go get the car, it will be faster than walking"....but the keys were in the house, and oh ya, the door was locked. By the time I was to the end of the road and up the hill, she was just about as far away as the house was behind me. I had already tried to entice her back by offering treats, so from the top of the hill I yelled "LET'S GO FOR A WALK".
At this point, let me just reiterate what my son has said "She is so cute, but she is stupid blond!"
Yes, in no time at all she was up the other side of the hill to go for a walk. So I grabbed her by that cute sweater and carried her stupid naughty self home. Where she was put on her leash immediately.
Then I could deal with the fact that I had no way to get in the house.
