One of my favorite parts of my trip was going to “Tracey’s Farmhouse Kitchen”. I am sure I will continue to post about the wonderful experience, but I wanted to share one of her many talents. She makes plum gin! I am not a bathtub gin connoisseur, so I was glad to get a picture of her gin barrel! It was very lovely tasting… just one of Tracey’s many talents!

HIGH TEA

11 YEAR HOLIDAY

This is Agnes she came on holiday from Latvia to visit her sister here in western Ireland…. and she liked it so much she stayed for 11 years. We chatted as she tidied room 209 here at Ashford Castle. She likes her job and she likes working with the staff… her supervisor Natalia popped in as we chatted, she was from Latvia also, she said that the staff here is like family. I told here I love it here and she invited me to stay. I said I will need to go home and wrap up my loose ends, she said to just send a post card!!!

I am grateful for all those have made this trip so wonderful. And for the knowledge that there is a job opening for me here in Ireland if I get tired of what I’m doing!

PLASTERS

All the walking I have done over the past few days has caused a couple well earned blisters on my toes. So today I stopped into the druggists in Galway for some bandages. But I didn’t see the boxes of Band-aids that I have known all my life. Here in Ireland they have PLASTERS!
