GReeN BeaNS

GREEN BEANS

2 pounds trimmed green beans
Fresh or frozen
3 strips of thick cut bacon cut
1 inch pieces
1/2 yellow onion, diced
3 c sliced fresh mushrooms
1/2 c red wine
1 beef bullion cube
1/2 tsp garlic powder
3 c water

In a large pot, cook your bacon pieces until crisp, on medium heat. Drain most the fat. Add your onions, cook until golden. Add in your sliced mushrooms and cook for about 3 minutes. Stir often. Add your red wine and stir to loosen all that yummy cooked on flavor at the bottom of the pot. Toss in your bullion cube and your garlic powder. Stir. Add your green beans. (I don't snap my green beans but you can.) Now add your water, cover the pot and turn your heat to low. Stir it every once in a while. Let the yumminess cook down until the liquid is all but evaporated, it's well worth the time!!
These amazing green beens freeze well. But they don't last long at my house, they are so good!!
