NIGHT SKY

The other night I did just that. 

As I lounged in a friend’s pool, on her property in the woods. I just watched the sky. 

The blue of evening changed all different shades until it was black. And as the darkness engulfed the day, the stars started to make their grand appearance. 

Funny how often we give ourselves over to the television each night, to entertain us, to let us stop thinking of the day. 

But if we go outside and let the day slip into night, listening to the world calm down, watching the heavenly evenings programming, oh what a wonderful way to unwind. 

It helps bring us back to a better reality. A better, more wholesome relaxation. And a far better way to end your day.

THE THINGS YOU WANT

Thinking back over the things I have wanted in my life… 

Are the things I want now, the things I wanted then?

I think I can honestly say yes. 

I think the things I want in my life are the things I have always wanted. 

The tangible and the intangible. 

Looking back over my Pinterest boards has shown me that I currently love all the things I loved years ago. 

When I look at my bucket list, all the things I have done and the things I have still to do, all still make me happy. 

So are the things I wanted in my youth still the same things I want now in my wisdom? Yes! 

Even though I have grown and life has changed me… I am still the same person. 

I still want the same things!

SECRET TO LIFE

I realized that there's not a day of my life that I didn't see something beautiful.

Neuroscientists tell us that awareness of beauty in one's environment… reduces stress, can have physiological benefits, perhaps even longevity.

Forty years ago today, Tina Turner, David Bowie, Joan Baez, and U2 were among the 75-plus acts that played for a 16-hour “superconcert” held in two locations, London and Philadelphia, with a collective 170,000 fans in attendance. Live Aid was conceived of by Irish musician Bob Geldof, who was moved to action after seeing a news report about the hunger crisis in the African country.
