This is located in the Land Between the Lakes, in Kentucky. On this trip not only did I see more elk and bison in one spot than I ever had before, but throughout the day we saw herds of Fat Happy cows, horses, donkeys, chicken, goats, sheep and super friendly squirrels! It was a good day!

I DONT WANT THIS

YOU DON’T JUST LOSE SOMEONE ONCE

You lose them over and over,

sometimes in the same day.

When the loss, momentarily forgotten,

creeps up,

and attacks you from behind.

Fresh waves of grief as the realisation hits home,

they are gone.

Again.

You don’t just lose someone once,

you lose them every time you open your eyes to a new dawn,

and as you awaken,

so does your memory,

so does the jolting bolt of lightning that rips into your heart,

they are gone.

Again.

Losing someone is a journey,

not a one-off.

There is no end to the loss,

there is only a learned skill on how to stay afloat,

when it washes over.

Be kind to those who are sailing this stormy sea,

they have a journey ahead of them,

and a daily shock to the system each time they realise,

they are gone,

Again.

You don’t just lose someone once,

you lose them every day,

for a lifetime.

HOW THEY FEEL

 I just heard a woman say that people set you up to feel how they feel. If someone feels powerless, they want you to feel powerless. If they feel jealous, they want you to feel jealous. 

Okay I can see how this works. 

How about we all feel love and respect, happy and delightful! 

This is going to be great!

THE POSITION

We have two new employees on our travel team and another training. To say that this job is stressful is an understatement. But I was hopeful that the job would be start off smooth and let them ease into the position. 

Well…

“The Fetal Position” is the position that our job tends to cause us to bend to. Poor darling newbies are learning quick. 

ACHIEVING IT ALL

This is something I truly believe in. I am my best cheerleader, I know that I can make anything happen, because everything is in my capability. My faith in myself is abundant, because I know my purpose here on earth is to do all I can do. There are no limitations on what I can achieve.

FRUITS OF MY LABORS

 At the end of a mediocre Chinese lunch, 

I was given a fortune cookie.

 🥠 

It read “The fruits of your labors will pay off” 

I know that this should be encouraging 

However I found it depressive. 

I think I need something new to work on. 

APPROPRIATE

PEDAL TO THE METAL

An older man drove his brand new Corvette convertible out of the dealership. Taking off down the road, he floored it to 80 mph, enjoying the wind blowing through what little gray hair he had left. Amazing, he thought as he flew down I-94, pushing the pedal even more.

Looking in his rear view mirror, he saw a state trooper behind him, lights flashing and siren blaring. He floored it to 100 mph, then 110, then 120. Suddenly he thought, What am I doing? I'm too old for this, and pulled over to await the trooper's arrival.

Pulling in behind him, the trooper walked up to the Corvette, looked at his watch, and said, "Sir, my shift ends in 30 minutes. Today is Friday. If you can give me a reason for speeding that I've never heard before, I'll let you go."

The old gentleman paused. Then he said, "Years ago, my wife ran off with a state trooper. I thought you were bringing her back."

"Have a good day, sir," replied the trooper.

TURNING UP THE HEAT

 In the winter, the back bedroom in the little red brick house is rather chilly. You may even say it gets down right cold. The house is vintage, so it’s okay. But this lady is not okay with sleeping in Eskimo attire. So for years I have hunkered down beneath a mountain of blankets. To fix my freezing dilemma I have purchased a duel heating, king size, electric blanket. And I couldn’t be happier. Let me just tell you… This thing is AWESOME! I’m cozy as can be, toasty as can be and happy as can be! Money well spent!!! Zzzzzzzzzzzz
