We drove 251 miles that Thursday. We could have taken the shorter route, but what’s the fun in that? We drive back roads as often as possible, the view is so much nicer from there.
Once we reached Tellico Plains we pulled into Smitty’s Lodge: a Motorcycle Campground.
I had seen the pictures on line, but I was still a bit leery about a biker camp.
Well let me just say… it was Awesome! Not only did I feel comfortable and safe, but it was charming and so accessible. Everyone we met there was really nice and friendly.
I will go back to this location and I highly recommend it.
