GOOD MORNING

I woke up around five, I checked the weather app and my email. I normally get up and get my glass of lemon water and my vitamins and go peddle for an hour. But this morning I pulled on a pare of jeans and a hoodie over my nighty and slipped in my vans as I walked out the back door. I didn’t brush my hair or teeth, I just needed to be outside.
I wandered around the perimeter of my back yard, talking to all the sweet little plants we are encouraging to grow. There are only a couple dozen, but I am so hopeful that they not only survive but thrive as well. I know that is they all live I will have far too many of some things… like watermelon and pumpkin and squash. But that just means my neighbors and friends will have some too.
I admired the trees that canopy my backyard. They make my yard into a fairy garden each spring and summer. The hostas I transplanted from a friend’s yard a few years ago are thriving and edge the sunroom beautifully. And I don’t care that my beautiful green lawn is 90% creeping charly, it is green and soft and lovely!

In the front yard I admired the overflowing flower garden under our front windows. There’s a whole that needs a filled. But my daughter is going to transplant part of her pink piony bush there this fall, so next year we will have more color and the entire flower bed will be full.

The tree in the center of my front yard is very tall. It’s rather lovely when it’s full and green. But I have never seen a tree drop twigs and bits of branches like this tree. We have asked about it, and every other person who has the same type tree says same thing. It’s healthy, it just drops twigs and bits of branch all the time. So we are forever gathering a pile of kindling.
We pruned back the crepe myrtle again this spring, and it has gone wild. It’s full again and round. It’s just darling. I can’t wait for its pink flowers!
I love my yard. I love my little red brick house.
I love my little hidden neighborhood and all my sweet neighbors.
I love where I live.
Now for my lemon water, vitamins and peddling.
Good Morning!
