ART WHIMSY
Classic, beautiful, whimsical, so lovely and magical.
Michael Parkes is one of my all time favorite artists. His work creates such powerful story.
It reminds me of MacKenzie-Child whimsy and elegance.
A few of my favorite things!
TEN YEARS AGO TODAY
I packed my house into a u-haul truck and parted with what wouldn’t fit.
I had gone over the rout I was taking repeatedly.
I was ready for the adventure that I was about to undertake.
People have told me that I was brave to start all over. But I didn’t see it that way. I was afraid to miss out on all the rest of the adventures. I knew if I stood still, continuing from the spot I was at, I would never know what else was out there. And I have such a desire to see it all, do it all, experience it all.
Ten years have changed me. My experiences in this life chapter have been amazing. I am grateful to have had so many opportunities, met such amazing people and truly learned all about me. Looking back… I’m so proud of myself. Looking forward… I’m ready for whatever comes next!
Here is to the next 10 years!

GRUMPY
I was late for my hair appointment yesterday because my debit card didn’t work at the local bank. So I drove across town (it’s a small town thank heavens) to my main branch office. Of course it was after bank hours, so no one was there to help and no one was available to help on the phone either. So I headed to see my stylist Laura. As I walked through the doors of the salon, I said hello to another girl working there and she asked me how I was doing. I told her I was grumpy. She yelled to Laura, your grumpy client is here. And I heard Laura say “She may be grumpy but she is always sweet!”
I would like to think that is always true. I try, heaven knows I try!!!
HIDDEN GEMS
I love my flowerbed. Others have said it is overgrown and messy, but I love it. I never had a flowerbed before this one. In my old life, flowers didn’t grow well or last long. But here they grow everywhere. I like the overgrown look, it says flourish to me. It reminds me of a walk through tall grass. It makes me happy. 
My irises have passed and the day lilies and hydrangeas are now thriving. But hidden from view there was a vibrant purple iris and a pure white iris waiting to surprise me. I am delighted!
ASAURUS
I was heading out the door, I didn’t notice him until I was getting in my car. And there, perched on the hood was this Pink Asaurus. I don’t know where he came from or who put him on my car. Perhaps he climbed up there on his own, knowing I am longing to find a new adventure, and he wanted to be my copilot. 
Jeeps get duckies, maybe he is a Ford Asaurus!

WHOLE
I’m not waiting for a hero.
I saved myself long ago.
I don’t need someone to complete me.
I am whole alone.
I just want someone to go on adventures with.
Someone who will dance with me, kiss me when I least expect it and make me laugh.

My granddaughter and I were drawing, tracing cookie cutters on paper with colored pencils this weekend. As I was tracing another dinosaur she asked me if I drew on my finger, pointing to my tattoo. I told her I did not, but that I let someone else do it for me. I asked her if she knew what it said, and we read the letters.
eek, and then I asked her if she knew what eek means, she said
“I love you with all my heart” ♥️
My heart melted!

CREATING LOVE
At 40, Franz Kafka (1883-1924), who never married and had no children, walked through the park in Berlin when he met a girl who was crying because she had lost her favourite doll.
She and Kafka searched for the doll unsuccessfully.
Kafka told her to meet him there the next day and they would come back to look for her.
The next day, when they had not yet found the doll, Kafka gave the girl a letter "written" by the doll saying "please don't cry. I took a trip to see the world. I will write to you about my adventures."
Thus began a story which continued until the end of Kafka's life.
During their meetings, Kafka read the letters of the doll carefully written with adventures and conversations that the girl found adorable.
Finally, Kafka brought back the doll (he bought one) that had returned to Berlin.
"It doesn't look like my doll at all," said the girl.
Kafka handed her another letter in which the doll wrote: "my travels have changd me." the little girl hugged the new doll and brought the doll with her to her happy home.
A year later Kafka died.
Many years later, the now-adult girl found a letter inside the doll. In the tiny letter signed by Kafka it was written:
"Everything you love will probably be lost, but in the end, love will return in another way."
LET THEM GO
