TURKEY HUNT

My friend Bill has a passion for Turkey Hunting. This 79 year old inspirational man has been all over the globe in the hunt for turkey. He just returned from a turkey hunt in Mexico. One of his hunting party was a partially blind, veteran amputee. The trip was successful for both these hunters. They both got their Turkeys.

This is one of the resident camp hands with a local “camp turkey”.  Bill wasn’t too sure what this guy did to make this bird so mad, but it will hunt him out of a crowd to attack him! Rather ironic I think!

WEATHER

Yesterday started out lovely. As the clocked ticked, it got colder and blustery. Last night on my way home from dinner there was some freezing rain. And at some point after I went to bed there was snow. I woke up to see big fat white snowflakes in the middle of the night.
This morning there is a bit of snowy evidence here and there, but it’s gone for the most part. 
Weather is always interesting!

PEANUTS

Here at my little house, on my little dead end street they call a Court, we have lots of squirrels! They are delightful! We feed them dried corn on the cob occasionally. And it’s so fun watching them maneuver to eat it from where it hangs in the backyard tree. But we are always surprised at the amount of peanut shells found in the yard. I have dug them up in the flowerbed, found them littering the yard and even found them hidden in fresh potting soil. But yesterday I found one at my back door. It was still full. Perhaps I have a lazy squirrel out there too!

MY SUNDAY DRIVE

 I love spring in Kentucky! Everything is blooming and beautiful. I filled up my Ford and I drove into paradise. The dogwoods are in bloom and there are so many shades of green in the woods. Splashes of white and pink flowers everywhere! Along my drive I saw cows with calfs, horses with colts. I saw a Turkey, lots oh fat happy chickens and I even saw sweet little lambs. The drive was beautiful! A perfect April Sunday Drive.
