EDNA FOR PRESIDENT

I believe this is how true exploration is done right!

PERUSING AND PURGING

I have been working on revamping, organizing and purging the past few weeks. I’m currently working on purging my horde of magazines.

I have saved a few travel guides, a couple of my favorite catalogs and the magazines I truly do want to read.

But let me just say, most of my Travel magazines were a huge waist of time. I don’t travel like the rich or famous, I travel like the romantic I am and don’t need advice on five star caviar and $230 swim suites. I also think all those Cosmo type mags are nothing more than glossy adverts. Mens Health is still one of the best reads for fitness, food and frisky what’s what.

Sadly, many of the periodicals I have purchased and hung onto for far too long, only give a trickle of the insight, information and influence I was hoping for.

So I will continue to peruse the baskets full of printed kindling I have collected, until I have determined, to my satisfaction that there is nothing more to glean and I can purge from this corner, my collection of magazines.

60 MINUTES BEFORE BED

1. Spend the first 20 minutes on before bed tasks.

Pack tomorrow’s lunch. Load the last of the days dishes into the dishwasher, tidy the throughs and put away shoes. Give everything one last tidy.

2. Spend the next 20 minutes on personal hygiene.

Shower, brush teeth, cleanse face. Lotion everywhere! Wipe down bathroom.

3. Spend the last 20 minutes relaxing.

Listen to soothing music. Read or journal/ blog. This is a great time to do some deep breathing.

DIFFERENTLY

I met a woman yesterday who shared her story with me. She shared the loss of her only child. She told me of her daughter’s life struggles and experiences. She shared the bond she has with her only grand child.

As she spoke, I saw similarities between her daughter’s life story and the one I am living. Her daughter’s story ended tragically and I cried with this sweet lady as she shared with me. In our conversation she asked me questions about my story. I was very honest with her, I usually tell everyone I moved to the Midwest because I fell in love with how beautiful it is. (But that’s only part of my story)

As we shared, she asked me how I didn’t end up like her daughter.

We all deal with the twist and turns of our life paths differently. Fear is part of that. But unlike her daughter, my fear pushed me forward. I was more afraid of missing a minute of my future than of the fear of others or the unknown.

That sweet lady will always mourn her daughter. And my heart and prayers go out to her.

I am grateful for the reminder of the path I am on.

I know what I want in my life and I will continue to move toward it, no matter the roadblocks.

What I want has not changed. I have.

I am stronger because of it.

I’m determined to happily enjoy my life path.

I accept the challenges ahead of me and I am determined to find the magic in every moment.
