Go Cart Races

As all 20 carts came out of turn two all hell broke loose. Nick’s cart was end over end, all the carts were in the same tight area. When the dust cleared, it was a nightmare. Samantha and Robbin were over the fence in a second (wife & mom), half the crowd was over that fence in two. As they pulled someone else’s cart off Nick’s body, we all held our breath. The carts that were still fine were moved, one drivers leg was pretty chewed up. But Nick was still on the ground, with people all around him. 

Standing next to his two darling daughters on the visitors side of that fence made the time stand still. When the staff finally got him to his feet on that dirt track, I think everyone took a collective deep breath. I don’t think anything I have ever witnessed had been so scary. 

Three broken ribs was the worst of the body damage on Nick. His cart is toast. 

It was an amazing evening. The friendship and family bonds there at that little spot in the middle of “Kentucky nowhere” were incredible. 

I am so glad things turned out as well as they did when all was said and done. I am grateful to have witnessed the passion and love that family shares. ❤️

Speak To Everyone

PROTEST

I don’t like spiders.
Yet I like having my porch light on at night.
The light makes my little home and my neighborhood
look more family friendly
and less accessible by the wrong sort of people.
However, the bugs feel welcome as well.
I have to sweep off my doorway, post box and light
on a very regular bases.
Today, getting home from work,
I wanted to run the other way, due to all the spider webs.
So I got my broom and my spray.
I swept them all down.
Then I sprayed the entire front of my little home.
A dozen or more spiders crept out to protest.
So I sprayed them some more.
I wish they would go back to hell where they belong.
I don’t like spiders.

HOUSE HUNTING

Going "House Hunting" this weekend. 
There is a house on a hill that I need to see. 
Maybe it's time for me to think about a 
New Fork In The Road!!!!

Captain

I was speaking to one of my travel reps today. 

Her name is Sarah. 

She was so helpful. 

I asked if she had an H at the end of her name. 

She said she does. 

I told her that my daughter, Sara, 

always said she was the only Sara in her class 

without an H. 

(There were always several other 

Sarah’s in her grade school classes.) 

I told my rep that if I could have let me children 

choose their own names I would have. 

She agreed that everyone would 

probably love that option. 

"However," she said, "there may end up being names like

'Captain Dino Chicken Nugget'!!!" I agreed.

When I called her again, later in the day, 

she answered the call and I asked if this was "Captain"!!!

TINY CRAZY OUCH

I was slicing a cucumber out of my garden yesterday. 

I was using my mandolin. 

I love that it creates perfect slices. 

However, I was at the end of my green veg, 

when I sliced the very tip of my index finger.

The missing part of my digit is very small. 

Yet it effects everything I do. 

Shampooing my hair was very uncomfortable. 

Washing dishes, making the bed, getting dressed, 

typing, doing paperwork…. all very odd. 

Who would have ever thought such a tiny thing 

would make me crazy.

Florida

Woohoo!

I have made it to Florida!! 

Wall Art

This is the wall art at the dr office I am at. Soothing and hypnotic, as are all the features here. But what you don’t see is all the women waiting in the same pink tops. It’s kind of like a scary movie! 

Traffic Nightmare

I was heading home through Henderson Ky the other night with a friend.
We had seen several emergency vehicles along our way.

But as we got closer to the intersection is was obvious what had happened.
The photo here is the motorcycle, from my vantage point I could not see the driver.
The bike did not look like a bike, it looked mangled.
Then I saw the minivan it had collided with. The front end was devastated.
There were helpers all around the driver of the bike.
I prayed for everyone. 

It was a frightening sight.
Horrific.
