MOVING DAY AT THE BANK

I believe that WHO you work with can make or break your work experiance.
No mater how you feel about the job itself, the folks that work shoulder to shoulder with you influance the daily adventure.
Here at the bank we are in transition. New teams, new team leaders, new coaches, new coworkers, new seating charts.
I like everyone I work with. I am blessed. But there are some coworkers that just make my day brighter! I am grateful for a boss that listens to our oppinions. She cares how we feel. I didn't get the seating chart of my dreams however. So I quietly requested a change or two, after all, being able to chat with your work pals is good for moral thus it is good for business. I can tell you that my request was answered with a " That's a great idea!" And by lunch I was organizing my belongings into the seat I had chosen.
One of the guys in my team asked "Angie do you always get your way?"
To the I relied "Why Yes I do!!!" And thus life at the bank is very good ?

Who Needs Fiction?

Hawesville has one city cop.
The city cop misplaced his gun.
No one said it was stolen. Just Missplaced!
I am a BIG city girl, and my perseptions may be bias,
but in my book that sounds like He Lost It.
Don't worry though.....a town hall member bought him a new one!


While we are speaking of Town Hall, listen to this.....

Charley gets along with everyone pretty well. He is in Real Estate. It may be common knowledge that his dealings are not all too straight and he likes his adult beverages a bit too much, but he is a nice guy.
Well, good old Charley has been the mayor for sometime. I guess he felt pretty secure in his mayoral duties. So during election season Charley took the wife on a vaca to Hawaii! Nice right!
While the mayor was away, Rita, one of the gals in town, got busy talking with her neighbors. All her friends wrote Rita in on the write in ballot. And while Charley was basking on the sunny beach, unaware that he had any compition, Rita won the election! Charley came back far more tanned but far less in control.
Mayor Rita changed all the town "Welcome" signs to a lovely pink color!
Don't worry about Charley though, he ran for the councelman ticket. And got it. Now a large majority of the local news and views are the minutes from the Town Councel meeting, between Charley and the new Mayor!

This came out of the news and view in Hawesville. It's all true! Just go with it!! 

FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

For the half decade of service I was given a gift. 

There were many things to choose from.

At first I was sure I wanted 

something sparkly and pretty. 

Then I thought, something for the 

entertainment center in my home.

But the more I thought about it, 

the more I looked at my options, 

I thought something useful, 

 something that wont go out of style, 

something everyone can use. 

So I chose a 

15 piece Henkel Knife Set 

with a black knife block.

I love it!!!

This morning as we all settled back into the work week, Kyle came over to grab a cup of black breakfast and do some weekend catch up. He said that he had played Wii Bowling at some time during the weekend, but must have been toasted. He remembers being great at it, but now his backside and his  legs are growling at him!!

NASCAR ON THE BUCKET LIST

I met a lady in her mid sixties, she lives in Cali. She was fun to chat with; real, honest, delightful! She asked where I was from, I told her that I am a native Phoenician. She said "You have NASCAR there!" I told her we do and invited her to come for a race. She told me that she had started her bucket list when her husband had passed away. We shared some of the things on our lists; things we have yet to do, things we have checked off. Going to a NASCAR race is on both of our lists. She says she quilts, and as she quilts she watches NASCAR. Got to love the perfect grandma that has the need for speed!!!

My Princess and The Peas

Dinner with Cookie is always a treat. Tonight I sauteed chicken and steamed green peas. A very simple dinner, but tasty. We chit chatted during dinner, it was nice. Cookie has the most interesting table manners. As she was finishing her peas she picked up her plate and looked at me over the edge of it. I said "You are kidding me right?" she said, "They were bothering me" And at that she shoveled the peas from her plate right into her mouth. I sat there in disbelief. I told her I would be blogging this charming event. And she said if I keep blogging what she does she will never get a boyfriend. I agreed. 
So can I just say.....even though my princess had the most atrocious table manners.... at least she likes vegetables!!!!

My Love For The Harbor

Today I wrote out a check for eighth grade graduation pictures and a check for a 2013 year book.
I have had a student at this school since it opened in 1995. My daughters were in second and third grade. Mark was just a baby. When he was in kindergarten Cookie was born. He took her for show and tell! The school has a Beach Party every spring, we have attend it ever year for the past 17 years. This May will be our last year; Beach Party, Graduation, and then my baby, the last of my four, will move on to high school. I have loved this school. I love that my kids all have gone to elementary and junior high here, that it feels like home. (I went to 12 different schools before I graduated high school, I wanted stability for my kids) I have loved the ownership I have seen in each of my kids here. It is their school. Just as Centennial is their high school.
So as this school year quickly comes to an end, so does my 18 year journey with Desert Harbor. They say that it takes a village to raise a child. I know that village includes a Harbor.
And yes.....Sand Sharks Rock The Dock!!!

The world is every bit as fascinating now as it was when you were in kindergarten.
But we get caught up in life and we no longer see the world through the eyes of the inner child.

An adult laughs an average of 15 times a day. A pre-schooler laughs on average of 400 times.
The moral is: yeild to the child within you.

I guess this confuses me. I tried adhering to this. I did not find conforming to be easy or always right.
I choose to establish my own standard. I don't want to miss out on a minute of enjoying my life, just to fit into what someone else thinks is normal.

Cookie and I spent Monday afternoon together.

I don't have words to describe how much I love this child.

She is, and has always been the Frosting on the Cake.

I am older with this teenage daughter, and maybe that is a blessing.

She needs my mid 40's patients, she tests it daily.

She is bits and pieces of her siblings all rolled into one,

but new and unique, all her own person.

I am thrilled daily to see the young woman she is turning into.

She delights me is so many ways.

Her enthusiasm is delicious, her creativity is exciting.
