THE THINGS YOU WANT

Thinking back over the things I have wanted in my life…

Are the things I want now, the things I wanted then?

I think I can honestly say yes.

I think the things I want in my life are the things I have always wanted.

The tangible and the intangible.

Looking back over my Pinterest boards has shown me that I currently love all the things I loved years ago.

When I look at my bucket list, all the things I have done and the things I have still to do, all still make me happy.

So are the things I wanted in my youth still the same things I want now in my wisdom? Yes!

Even though I have grown and life has changed me… I am still the same person.

I still want the same things!

SECRET TO LIFE

I realized that there's not a day of my life that I didn't see something beautiful.

Neuroscientists tell us that awareness of beauty in one's environment… reduces stress, can have physiological benefits, perhaps even longevity.

That's the secret.

Forty years ago today, Tina Turner, David Bowie, Joan Baez, and U2 were among the 75-plus acts that played for a 16-hour “superconcert” held in two locations, London and Philadelphia, with a collective 170,000 fans in attendance. Satellites beamed the performances to another 1.9 billion viewers in 150 countries. All told, the benefit concerts raised over $100 million to support famine relief in Ethiopia.

Live Aid was conceived of by Irish musician Bob Geldof, who was moved to action after seeing a news report about the hunger crisis in the African country. He organized a supergroup of U.K. musicians — Band Aid — to record a benefit song, which topped the U.K. charts and raised millions. That inspired artists in the U.S. to do the same, and the international Live Aid concerts were organized to continue the momentum. Queen stole the show in what is considered by many to be one of the greatest rock performances of all time.

FROM AZ TO KY

CHERRY ON TOP

July evening with several thousand of my neighbors, just hanging out at the park. The breeze coming in off the river as the sun sets. My bare feet in the grass as we all sing along with the “Crashers” and sipping on ice cold lemonade.

Then I see the guy on stage in the kilt!
